(This discussion is on the tourism boom it’s brought. A discussion on the actual sporting event can be found here: https://merb.cc/xenforo/threads/4-nations-face-off.240323/)
I was downtown a few times this week culminating with a visit tonight, and business owners / staff are speculating this tournament is topping any event post-covid in terms of revenue generation, including the usual suspects (F1, Jazz fest, St Patty’s, etc), particularly on days when Canada’s playing.
Though it’s been extremely hectic where I’ve been around the Bell Center, I’m not quite sure if it’s the tourism, Plante’s C40-ication, or the amount of snow we recently got.
Considering the hobbyist scene usually sees a considerable spike with tourism events, I figured I take to MERB for the consensus: how would you compare the tourism (and business) this tournament has attracted compared to our usual tourist draws?
