According to this article, there's a new mysterious deadly illness found in the Congo.

An unidentified illness has caused dozens of deaths since October in a remote region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. With no precise diagnosis, officials are scrambling to find out whether it is viral or bacterial.

This diseases are a double edged sword. If this is like Ebola (super deadly), it likely won't have the opportunity to spread, and will be easier to contain. The SARS-CoV2 virus is the perfect parasite in the sense that it spread pretty easily while having a fairly low mortality rate, among those infected. If this new thing is like the former, then I don't think it will frankly have the legs to develop into a pandemic.
