I haven't cut back intentionally. I can't seem to get to Montreal nearly enough. I have noticed what seems to be more specials. Rates usually follow supply and demand generally. I hate to see the ladies see less clients causing monitary cutbacks, but it should make them easier to book. Good news/ Bad news sort of thing I guess.

End of Jan - February - early March are always slow in this business.
I know a number of Indy's in the West who take holidays in February every year for this reason.

Ditto! I wish I could get to Montreal twice a month.. but the world situation does have me on the road on extended international trips quite a bit more than I usual.
There just isn't enough time in the month for me to make my side trips to Montreal.
My limitation is not finances... it is lack of available time.
I don't hobby anywhere but Canada (mainly because I am not very wise about how to go about it in other places), so I really miss my trips up north.
Exchange rate and airfare are killing it for some
I can go to stripclubs around my home town and manage takeout for $150...get a regular and she'll meet you for $100. As long as your getting some action, why pay more in Montreal is my question ($185 with the exchange rate). I no longer do the two day runs or weekend flights across the border to good old Canada. Airlines used to offer weekend specials...not anymore. Not sure if anyone noticed, but they've been raising prices steadily. A flight to Montreal sets me back over $500...picked up a flight to Europe for under $700. Instead of paying $185 or more per visit in Montreal, I have a lot more options in Europe. Anywhere from $40 to $70 for some roomtime with a young maiden.

The weather has more impact loll..I never realised how my ..hum..sideline is affected by the meteo ...I thnink most of my cancellations comes from bad weather conditions...
Those who reside in Montreal see it as a great time to hobby with an influx of new talent to refresh the TDL's.
Same goes for driving... I don't drive less with a spike in gas prices, even with a gas guzzler... maybe when I was a student, but even then.

Not less, but trying to get better mileage. Stay with the tried and true, less experimentation with new places. A good massage with happy ending 3 times a month, and maybe one exotic visit to SP or erotic massage for a total of 4 per month.
While this is true for some it's not for everyone. Personally, even with the lower exchange rate and higher gas prices I have still been traveling to Montreal as regularly as I was previously. Some may have to do with the comfort I'm used to as well as the regular rapport I've cultivated with many ladies over time and the overall enjoyment of the city itself. I've made many friends over the years that I would still visit regularly even without an escort scene, although it certainly helps

Even though the economy is down, my economic circumstances have been up. Also, I have had occasion to travel to some of the greatest hobby destinations on the planet. I had to take advantage of this good fortune. Hence, I am hobbying way more than I have in the past.

Agencies should selling Merb Bucks so one can prepay for their services when the exchange rate and prices are most favorable.
