Are you older ( 40 + ) and go clubbing with the kids?

Look behind you.
Met my daughter for dinner last night at Shaker in Sherbrook, the place is a newer trendy eatery and turns into a club after 10pm.
Anyways, mostly youngish kids except for the odd older gent, then my daughter pointed out a 50ish year old man and said him again and shook her head, I noticed an older man with a pink shirt and that hair style where you comb up both sides to form a mini mohawk ( 1.5" high ) but he had a fair sized bald spot on the back so it looked real stupid. She says the guy comes in a lot and tries to mingle with the crowd with no success, wishes that older people were not allowed in clubs. Though I would dwell on the topic a bit and asked if that was the general consensus with her friends and yeah they all agreed. The older agents that come in with a group their same age are not the issue she says it is the single guys that try to blend in that most do not like.
Not sure if there are many club people on this board, but if you are stay away from pink shirts and mini mohawks.
BTW, I was by far the oldest person in the place and got a few stares sitting with my daughter, it is a place for the younger crowd.

No, I don’t go clubbing with the kids.
I did my share of clubbing when I was their age.
I see escorts, they love older guys, or at least they will tell you that.

Haha interesting story STN. That is the way it is: cruising singles bars is mostly a younger man's game. Did lots of clubbing in my younger days and had a fairly decent success rate til middle age hit and then the hobby completely replaced this activity. It sure is great to have a system where you cant strike out with a twentysomething girl! Your post kind of reminds of one my last great hurrahs over 15 years ago on a Crescent st. Bar. I had managed to pick up this tall voluptuous beauty and we ended up in a hotel room and it was "no holes barred" if you know what i mean! As we got caught up in the passion no ages were exchanged. I called her after since i wanted more and one point she told me was 20, which was not a problem for me but it was younger than I thought she was. She asked my age and I said"38" and she replied "wow that's old". So that is when I realized the club life was probably coming to an end. Trying to imagine myself in clubland in my 50s: forget about it!

The difference with a charming escort is that when you tell her that you are over 60.... she`ll reply by telling you that you make love better than most 40 year olds that she`d met.
The only place I visit clubs and disco`s these days is Havana.

Ya I agree Cloudy. I have had my share of charming young escorts complimenting me about how I rock their world better than most younger guys. Whether it is true or not is besides the point: these girls can make you feel like a King. If you want to get knocked back down to Earth, try visiting a Crescent st club....

The guy sounds like he's in a time warp. He could be there for a number of reasons: (a) he loves the food and vibe and goes see an escort after he leaves the club, (b) he's there to recruit ladies for an escort agency, (c) he could be a pimp looking for more new ladies to pimp out, (d) he could be there to sell drugs (but damn, he looks suspicious and conspicuous), or (e) he's really there to try to pick up on drunk 20 something ladies. Regardless, he's been "made" and needs to move on. Maybe he's a washed out spy :spy::pound:(I binge watched 3 seasons of "Berlin Station" on Epix -- nice spy stories and great cinematography of Germany, Norway, Estonia, brings back great memories of my trips there -- except Estonia, which I now want to go visit).

Clubbing was fun for me in my late 20's and early 30's. But after my buddies (gents and sometimes ladies) got married or moved away, I gave it up.

Now we have Seeking and other similar website and there's always the escorts that we can summon to obtain quick and instant gratifications.

When you're considering the price of drinks in bars now, Hobbying is not really more expensive than paying drinks to girls… And with a SP, you are sure to score… ;-)

Could not have put it better myself. With hobbying, the game is rigged so you can't strike out!

I still buy drinks for girls, mostly wine, and other treats that they might enjoy, but these girls are actually far more gorgeous and appreciate it way more, no hassle no pretence, and everybody goes home with a smile on their face , maybe for different reasons but it beats hanging out in bars any time.

I doubt that is what the post was about.
I don't think he has any intention of going clubbing with his children.
it probably just turned out that way that the dinner extended into the night and made him wonder what these old guys are doing or should they be there at all.
At least that is the way I understood it.

^^^^^^ Up 1 & 2..... I have actually never been " clubbing ", hate the music, real bands or nothing. We went out for dinner late and my daughter spotted this older 50ish person trying to pretend he belongs who she has seen before. I was just curious if members here go to clubs to try and actually pick up a person 20+ years younger. My daughter knows me better than to ask if I want to go clubbing with her, but i did take her to a good blues club in Calgary she actually had fun in.
