The malls on St. Cath will be closed.

Banks will be closed.

Some restaurants might be closed.

Mail delivery will be suspended, and non-essential government offices will be closed, which would not affect a tourist.

If you mean, what can you expect in regard to escorts? Most agencies are running on an abbreviated schedule with a limited staff.

Actually I'm just looking for information on what locals tend to be doing on Canadian day in Montreal. From what I've read on the internet, there will be more Canada Day related festivities in the Old City, down near the Old port area.

Just looking for additional information on what Montrealers do on Canada Day. Perhaps information that is not covered by the internet but available in the local news.

What to do on July 1st in Montreal:

Get drunk: all related establishments will be open.

Get laid: again, all related establishments will be open. Alternatively go to your favorite SC, MP, peep show....

Spend time in Old Montreal.

Get laid again.

Eat at one of our fine eateries.

Just a suggestion...

"The best laid plans of mice and men ... " -- John Steinbeck

On countless trips to Montreal and otherwise, I have found that the Internet cannot predict the entirety of your trip. Not every tidbit of information, especially local info, is online. Montreal is definitely a city to be experienced in person.

Especially with Montreal, there are usually pleasant surprises. A delightful little cafe tucked away in a corner of the city, or in an underground metro station. An impromptu museum made out of a historical home. A fascinating painting or sculpture placed in the lobby of a shopping center. And none of these are likely to be documented on any website or message forum.

You can only plan so much, but the improvisational nature of time in Montreal is often an attraction that alone is worth the trip.

If you're a Québécois, chances are you don't give a fuck about Canada Day, so if you're not moving or helping someone move or enjoying your chalet by the lake in the Laurentians, you'll probably brunch on a terrasse in the Plateau then have some beers and head for the jazz fest to see montrealers Bran Van 3000 in the middle of a 100 000 people crowd.
And get laid.

If Canada Day is coming up, then......

It may also mean that there may be a return of Doc Holliday's all-week long reverse gangbang birthday party celebrations!! :D :D :D

That is right we are smack in the middle of the Jazz Festival!

Take in some free open air concerts!
