I recently learned about the annual 2 week construction holiday in Quebec, that takes place at the end of July.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Construction_Holiday_(Quebec)

"In 1970, Quebec legislated an annual holiday for the construction industry which begins each year on the second to last Sunday of July, and lasts for a period of 2 weeks. The holiday officially came into effect in the summer of 1971. Many Quebecers outside the construction industry also take their holidays during these two weeks, and it is the busiest time of year for the province's tourism industry, with a surge of up to 40% in activity at some sites."

Is there any noticeable effect for visitors in Montreal then? Are hotels fully booked? Are hotel rates higher? Are smaller restaurants closed? Do many of the young ladies take a week or two off?

Basically, is that a good time to visit Montreal or should it be avoided at that time of year?

Look behind you.
Just my opinion but the construction hoilday is a fail, evrything is full, all camp sites, Granby zoo, Calypso waterpark, the qater park north of Quebec, LaRonde, you name it and it is packed, even outside Quebec to the east. In Montreal do not know, guessing yes, bored people and shopping time?
