Not really sex-related news, but if you had known to buy stock in either earlier this week?

http://news.yahoo.com/disney-buy-star-wars-producer-lucasfilm-4-05-200720453--finance.html

So now the House of Mouse owns Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Marvel Comics characters (many featured in the 1.5 Billion$ film from last summer)... and the Muppets!!

Disney bought Marvel for $4 Billion about 4-5 years ago as well... they sure have a lot of spare change ...

They're also going to make a new Star Wars film, Episode 7. They sure can't do worse than Lucas did with the three prequels and with a bit of luck, the original versions of the original trilogy will finally find their way to Blu-ray!

Han shoots first!!!!!! :D

I did not know Disney was so big that they can buy Lucasfilm cause Lucasfilm can be considered a major player.

I do not know the terms of the deal, it may not be all cash. Many times the business is evaluated and some of it is in cash and some of it is in stock of the newly merged company.
The advantage to the seller is that he gets stock in a rising star. Very often it is number one and number two merging to take market share from other players. Imagine a deal where two billion is cash and two billion is in stock. The stock may double or triple in the future.

Pixar began in 1979 as the Graphics Group, part of the computer division of Lucasfilm before its spinout as a corporation in 1986 with funding by Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs, who became its majority shareholder. The Walt Disney Company bought Pixar in 2006 at a valuation of $7.4 billion, a transaction which made Jobs Disney's largest shareholder. Now Lucas films and pixar are once again united but Pixar is no longer a division of Lucasfilms.

But Techman Star wars was rlsed few month ago in blu ray ......

Star Wars in blu ray

I know that, and I own the set, but the original versions of the original trilogy are not included. What's included are versions with edited scenes and new special effects. What true Star Wars fans want are the original versions of the films released on Blu-ray.

By the way, Lucas is not keeping the money from the sale, he's going to use it for philanthropic causes. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/disney-deal-george-lucas-will-384947#1101sf
“George Lucas has expressed his intention, in the event the deal closes, to donate the majority of the proceeds to his philanthropic endeavors.”
