Hi Guys,

I have never been to Montreal and I don't know French at all. So, I would like to know how difficult it is going to be to try Escorts (Outcalls/Incalls), Massage Parlors, and strip clubs. Are there a lot of English-speaking clients in this bussiness? Or it is mainly French-speaking clients?

>>> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------<<<
By the way, I might have a chance to travel coming up soon. So, I probably will be asking a lot of questions in different topics. I hope that you guys would help out a newbie like me out. Thanks in advance, guys. :)

Any info about the above questions at all would be greatly appreciated.:D

Some of the girls don't speak english at all,
but agency owners and massage parlors receptionists are more or less bilingual, so you can disscuss your linguistic needs with them first.

French isn't necessary but you will have a better interaction with the girls as they are primarily French speakers.

You dont have to know french to visit Montreal, I do find that French-Canadian are the most friendliest people around and will go out of their way to help you. Having said that it is customary courteous for you to attempt to learn as much as possible. Americans expect others to speak english when they come to the states it is as polite to learn french when you're in Montreal/Quebec. You dont have to learn everything but a few phrases here and there will let the people know that you respect their cultures and at least make an attempt to learn. You know the old saying " when In Rome".

I have never had a problem with the language barrier. I prefer a sweet french speaking girl, and always made it through without problem. They always know enough to communicate the essentials. A few of the english speaking ladies were a bit annoying though! ;)

:D

I was thinking the same thing.

JC:
Don't worry about it. Most understand english and people know it's good business to know english since many tourests come english speaking places. As far as attitudes are concern you will find a mix. Some will give you an attitude because you dared spoke english in a francophone province and others will actually prefer to speak english as they like the adventure and challange of practicing another language. It depends on who you meet, but I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.

Being an anglophone, the girls who are primarily French speakers prefer that the men know French, but they really don't talk much in the session or need to . :D In fact, there are some girls whose only practice of English has been with clients and they have learned English well enough to communicate on a basic level. Of course, they cannot communicate as well in English as in French, and they can be self conscious. There are a fair share of girls whose first language is English. They are from Montreal, or from other parts of Canada.

Somewhere south of the border
JC -

I was in Montreal for the first time last fall and did take a few French lessons before my trip. While not necessary, it is a nice touch to be able to greet a girl with a 'Bon soir' and to know some basic phrases. Most will compliment your attempt at speaking French, some may playfully tease you, but I think all will appreciate the effort.

The agencies I used were a pleasure, more so than most in the States.

Bon apetit! ;)

"Some will give you an attitude because you dared spoke english in a francophone province"

While when I'm in Quebec, I try to speak some french (I tend to massacre the language with my lazy english tongue), but I really don't understand the above attitude. Yes, Quebec is french-speaking, but, for better or for worse, the world operates in english. No matter where you go around the world, people who wish to advance in their careers and lives learn english. While I understand and support (to a degree) Quebec's protectionist language laws, treating english as if it's the ebola virus is only damages Quebec society in the end.

Luckily, most urban Quebecers are enlightened enough to accept the role of english in today's world. I've heard horror stories of how badly visitors to rural parts of Quebec have been treated simply because they spoke english; I equate those Quebecers with southern rednecks: xenophobic simpletons who spend their whole lives in stupid little towns hating the rest of the world.

I do quite a bit of business with Quebec firms. One is a small company where nobody really speaks much english. However, we both speak BUCKS and that's fine with me. However, as my business has developed closer and bigger ties with Quebec suppliers lately, I sincerely regret dropping out of french class in high school. I'm too old now to learn a new language, so I'll stumble through french as best I can.

Oh, and should Quebec ever separate, would I cut off my purchases from Quebec suppliers? Hardly! At one time, as a younger man, I was annoyed with Quebec separatism. But now, as I get to know the province(nation), I
realize, yes, it is very much like a different country. There are plenty of small nations which succeed and prosper (Norway, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, etc.), so why couldn't Quebec?

I can't blame Quebecers for wanting to develop their own country; I'd want to as well if I was one. Who knows, if Quebec finally separates, I might emmigrate there; it'd be better than becoming an American, as would likely be the rest of Canada's fate. By the way, don't dismiss so quickly the notion of America's desire to grab the rest of Canada. Look what they did to get Iraqi oil; they'd love to 'secure' Alberta's oil sands. With global warming, the southern states may dry up as Canada becomes warmer; lots of habitable territory here! Halifax: major strategic ice-free naval harbour. Atlantic Canada: natural gas. British Columbia: one of the best cities in the world.
Canada in general: a developed, peaceful, educated population with vast natural resources. Oh, and don't forget water...got lots of it here! (Hey, Vegas is drying up, isn't it?)

Hmmmm, kind of makes me wonder if the CIA might have some separatists of their own working in Quebec! ;-)

It all depends on the girl. Some have given me a bitchy attitude for talking English. Others on the other hand rather that I speak English because they want to practice speaking the language and for them it's an adventure to speak a different language.

J'ai parle franciase parce je voule a apprener. Je va voule a apprener francaise, espaniol, allmound, croatie, russe, italian et grec.

One quick note: Quebecois is derived from French and it is close to French but its not exactly standard French as spoken in la France metropolitaine.

Its not accurate to refer to the Quebecois as French. Its like saying Americans are English.

In fact in France, they say that I speak Americain and not English.
