The book "Why The Allies Won" explains why the allies won and argues that the Nazis came close to winning the war. Hypothetical: Hitler becomes dictator of Germany in 1934, but is soon assassinated (There were actually numerous attempts on his life). Assume you replace him. How would you wage war differently in order to ensure vistory?

There are several theories on what could have happened if Hitler was replaced, one of them is that the Nazis might have won the war in Europe, their downfall was because of Hitlers constant meddling in military operations, if Hitler simply let his Generals fight the war they might have one.

I don't think Germany would have followed through with World War II if Hitler was assassinated in 1934. He was the driving force for German Nationalism. He was deranged, yet talented in being an evil motivator. He funneled all of his fantasies, or sordid visions from his book Mein Kampf, into moving the Germans to what occurred in the 1930's, and 1940's. The Germans did not aspire to this brutal force on their own. Without Hitler, I don't think it would have happened.

Yes, there were Nazis in Germany in 1934, but Hitler only took over in August 1934.

Here is a link of the timeline of the rise and fall of Germany under Hitler:

If you define victory as taking over the world, as you have on Terb it can't be done. I won't bother to explain why because it is utterly pointless to even try to explain anything to anyone. However this is also why you can't get the answer you want on Terb and probably won't on Merb.

Hitler did some nutty things in terms of conventional wisdom and also very risky that happened to pay off well. If you get rid of the negative effects of meddling, you also have to give up where it paid off well. There was a lot of resistance by the big brains in the early years of the war to just about everything, at least to the fall of France. Also there is so much luck involved, if a certain plane didn't crash the invasion of France could easily have been a replay of WWI.

There was a thread a long time ago on the usenet about WWII. The idea was to discuss the real chain of events as a highly unbelievable alternative history. Basically if you were to try to present WWII as an alternative history back in say 1938, it would come across as foolish.
