Would disagree only on the Hilton. If you mean the Hilton Bonaventure, it is not in the class of some of the other hotels on your list.

I would agree with EB the Hilton Bonaventure is not at all in the same class. You may want to try a new hotel that just opened November 16th its called W in Montreal; http://www.starwoodhotels.com/whotels/search/hotel_detail.html?propertyID=1471

It’s a very classy hotel with stylish design and a very trendy crowed hangs out in the lounge bar.

The Bonaventure Hilton and the Fairmount Queen Elizabeth are both over priced for what you get. As for the others, depends on your personal preferences...

I enjoyed the Marriott Chateau Champlain very much.

The advantages I enjoyed were that it is right off the end of the AutoRoute, it is also located right above the Bonaventure Metro stop, and it has very nice, clean rooms. It is also within reasonable walking distance to Crescent Street and Ste. Catherine's Street.

That "W" looks nice. I kind of get the feeling that is is a bit on the "gay" side. Of course for $429/night anything goes :D

I have the same impressions as you have, and have heard from others that it's already fairly popular among the wealthier gay crowd. A couple of days ago, i read an article where Michel Girouard, well known to the world as a tremendously proud gay entertainment personality, just raved about the place.
