Yes, part time, after taking a 6 month sabbatical to travel. My father retired at 56 with a great pension and I would be bored stiff having the same retirement he has. He does nothing more exciting than walking the dog and reading Money Magazine and the Wall Street Journal by the pool at his gated retirement community in Florida. He occasionally goes out for a lunch here and there with his fellow retirees. He is not into golf, or any sports. I would go bananas living in such a retirement. I need to be kept busy working on projects.
When I call my Dad and ask him what he did today, the answer I get is almost always the same......"I walked the dog....she got really scared by another dog.......went for lunch with [Joe Blow Fellow Retirees] and had a really good Grouper Sandwich (he loves Grouper Sandwiches)............I took your mother to the Doctor." I can fast forward and rewind and it is all the same stuff. My father seems to have a boredom shield of some kind that prevents him from experiencing boredom from what seems to be a fundamentally boring daily life.
