Hey Spiky,

I know someone who has tickets in section 224 row C for June 22. Not sure how much she is asking for them though. I've also seen several tickets on ebay for sale, you might want to check there. I personally have a ticket in section 120 ( :) which I'm keeping :) ).

I understand... Section 120 is a great place to be...HOW did you get them ????

I am not willing to pay 900$ a ticket for this show....I'd rather add few hundred $$ and spend a whole week in Mexico, Dom Republica or Carrabean Islands...

Just let me know if something reasonnable happens..

Instead , shouldn't I spend $500 for a close evening with you instead of a distant evening with La Madonne

Why not...

Guide to getting seats for big name shows...Pay or Pray

There are precious few ways to get good seats for a show like Madonna. Also keep in mind that face value on some of her tickets is $350!!!

1) Join the fan club of the act you want to see and hope they have a pre-sale for their concert dates in which only members can buy tickets before the general public gets a crack at them(yes, Madonna did this). Even this does not guarantee you a good seat, just a seat. I joined the U2 fanclub and got floor tickets for one show, a friend of mine joined and got balcony seats which were more expensive than the floor seats I got.

2) Camp out at the box office for several days before they go on sale so you can be first in line. I showed up at a ticketmaster outlet once to buy U2 tickets and the shows were sold out in minutes. Only the very first person in line got tickets and they were in the balcony at that, over two hundred people were turned away empty handed some of whom had camped out overnight.

3) Get a job at your local venue or make friends with someone who works there in hopes you will get a chance to buy before the general public

4) Pay a scalper a Kings ransom. My friend and I payed $600US for 2 $45 tickets for the 3rd U2 show we saw last time around, the only upside...we got into the elipse so it was actually worth it!

5) Pray you win a contest on a local radio station.

6) Pray someone who has gone through sheer hell to get seats for the show can't go for some reason and you happen to be the first person they tell.

Otherwise, put in a DVD of your favorite performer, turn up the volume, take out your Bic, and pretend you are at the show.

Free Madonna tickets

Here is the deal, you can get free Madonna tickets.

All you have to do is write an e-mail to MIX 96 radio station in Montreal and confess about some embarassing situation you lived that nobody else is aware about.

There is a draw of the best confession every day, the last gal who won talked about flossing her teeth with her hair.

Maybe some of you guys could confess about your misadventures with SP's and win yourself some tickets.

I'M sure EB would win with being locked up from his room with only his briefs on. :D

For more info, check THEMIX.COM.

Good luck!!!

PS : the last time i saw Madonna was 10 years ago at the BIG O, there were 40 000 spectators and I was in the rafters, had to watch with binocs. The sound was awful, it was a bad experience. She was wearing these JP Gaultier costumes with pointed breasts.

Another way

I think you forgot one item on your "how to" guide. I would add "have a really good connection" !

You could also use a "Concierge" service - You hire these people when visiting a city and they take care of whatever needs you may have (concert tickets, tables at "hot" restaurants, guest list for clubs, etc...)

Their services tend to be a little pricey as they deal normally with a high end clientel but prices for tickets for example would be cheaper than buying them off a scalper on the street.

I have used these people in the past (not in Montreal, but I know people who have used them here) and they really make a lot of things easier - You'd be amazed at what you can get from someone who knows the right people.

I was listening to MIX 96 and I heard that this guy won a free Madonna ticket with an embarassing confession:

He uses Nair cream down there to get rid of his pubic hair!!! He wanted his name kept private, who wouldn't? :D

It seems that this is cream is used mainly by women to get rid of unwanted hair.. but not in the pubic area.

When I heard that story, I said to myself, it's merbite written all over it :p

So, which one are you?

A little Madonna ticket update for any out there who want to spoil their favorite SP :D , I just picked up 10 with a face value of $350.00 for $1100.00 per ticket  and a few more in Section 104 with a face value of $185.00 for $550.00 a piece.

Wow I have to admit I was shocked (the tickets aren't for me I just got them for a friend) - I personally wouldn't pay $1100.00 to SLEEP with Madonna, but for any of you out there who are still looking, good tickets are still available but not for the faint of heart.

Going to her show in Boston could be an option....

I wanted to attend the show, but missed out on the tickets when they were first put on sale. I won't fork out a fortune by buying them from a scalper or someone via Ebay. I have, however, heard from someone that the sales for her show in Boston haven't went as well as in Mtl. Checking Ebay last night, i was surprised to see some Boston tickets go at cost. Maybe it's time that i finally make that trip to Boston which i've talked about to some friends for the last couple of years. The trip would pretty much pay for itself if i consider the other option of shelling out $1000 or more to resellers.
