I do my part by going through extreme lengths to be on time. Being clean. Being respectful of person and limits. Not being a total putz and paying what I owe without making it difficult.
Beyond that, I have no problems making it all about me. It is a rare treat and it costs a lot and it isn't as if the girl in question would ever date me for free, or even hang out with me or even give me the time of day if we met on civie street. I figure there being no risk that I will take it for something it is not and make things awkward by developing feelings gotta be worth something. Also having no demands of making her fake it has to count for something. Meh, I'm a realist.
