Montreal institution closing down, LeBarons Sports liquidating.

I was passing by LeBaron Sports on St. Laurent today. The place is being liquidated and will be closed in a week or two.

No great loss. Over priced merchandise that is available at Canadian Tire anyways.

Specialty shops are a thing of the past, No more Camera or dress shops around. When was the last time you went into a mom and pop hardware store?

In Ontario a lot of old sports shops like LeBaron has closed up because Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's has moved in.

If they are liquidating now I would think the proceedings for bankruptcy have been going on for 12-18 months already. Sometimes a business owner hangs around too long. The time for these shops has long past.

Quincaillerie Moussette at 1561 Ontario E. celebrated 100 years in business a few years ago. They're still going strong, but they are a rarity.
