Where I belong.
I'd never heard of Arcade Fire when I saw Bruce Springsteen invite Win Butler and Régine Chassagne on stage for a couple of songs in Ottawa a couple of years ago. It seems Bruce was prescient as Arcade Fire is now sitting atop the music world after winning a Grammy for the Best Album of the Year.

While I haven't yet heard "The Suburbs," the winning album, I do have their others, "Neon Bible" and "Funeral." They're both great.

You beat me to the punch! :D

This had to be the shocker of the evening last night, after the phenomenal Justin Bieber lost the 'best new artist' Grammy to Esperanza something. A lot of people thought Eminem would win the honor, and right out of blue the award goes to Montreal's Arcade Fire. Wow!

I saw them open up for a group 5-6 years ago. I can't remember which group. Either it was for U2 in Toronto back in 2005, or for another group/artist in Montreal at around the same time. I thought it was Van Halen, but remembered later that 'Jonas' opened for them. Then i thought maybe Aerosmith, then remembered Cheap Trick had opened for them. Not Springsteen either. Maybe David Bowie?

Off-topic, one of the best unknown (to me) acts i've ever seen opening for a group or artist was a group called "Wilco", who opened for Neil Young a couple of years ago in Montreal. They were absolutely fantastic!! If you like good guitar riffs, Wilco is the group for you!

I'm a big Wilco fan. Their lead singer, Jeff Tweedy, is going to do a solo show at the Olympia on St. Catherine East next month. My guess is that it's sold out.

Arcade fire is a tremendous Band, great music, incredible presence on stage! it's well deserved!
On a side note, I'm playing ball with Butler and I can tell he's a bit weird. Very special behaviour....must be genious.
