A lead-footed Quebec motorist...
A lead-footed Quebec motorist was caught driving so fast – police say they clocked him at 240 kilometres an hour – that he lost nearly enough demerit points to have his licence confiscated three times over.
Police won't confirm reports that the man was a valet at a downtown Montreal hotel, and that he was taking out a guest's BMW for a joyride.
He has had his licence suspended. He has also been assessed a fine of $2,598, and been docked 42 demerit points. It only takes 15 demerits to lose your licence in Quebec.
