I agree with Cairo on Nickleback & every year it's the same old story with the NHL Awards show turned into a cheesy comedy show. Why?????
Erin Andrews looked absolutely fantastic & the legs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back to the jokes.....many of the jokes were very good, but since the majority in the audience didn't show up to watch a comedy show, it's no wonder that many didn't get the jokes, nor were they ready for them.
I liked the guy impersonating Shanahan, but after the second time around, enough was enough! He wasn't funny anymore.
Best joke of the night goes to Geno Malkin when he went up to pick up the Hart Trophy & made a reference that he would have to read the same speech that he read for the previous award he won.
Nice to see Max Paccioretty win the Masterton....i wish the camera could have zoomed in on Chara, but it didn't....Joffrey Lupul could also have been a deserving winner.
Can't wait for the draft on Friday!!!
My recommendations for upcoming NHL Awards shows:
1) Get them out of Vegas & move them back to Canada.
2) Have a 'In Memoriam' segment near the end of the show to show the viewing audience which former NHLers (and personnel) passed away during the current year, like they do at the Oscars & Grammys.
3) Way too many comedy bits!!! It's not a comedy show & it gets tiring after a while. Make it a one hour show, period.
4) If you want more people watching the show, move it to the 9pm time slot on a weekend, preferrably Sunday evening.
