Nominations for Best Industry Party-2013

I nominate the October 4 Good Girls party. Simply put it was epic, and achieved more business than many reviews of the same ladies could have done. They say pictures speak a thousand words, well then meeting and talking to the subjects of those pictures in person must speak a million.

Bravo to everyone associated with this party. May there be many more like it in our lifetimes.

Before this thread gets going, there will be a ground rule that to be eligible for a vote any party or get together must have been announced on the board and have been open to ALL MEMBERS of MERB. Private, invitation only parties such as the one in EB's post are not eligible for recognition.

So, that would leave the late August party at PJs and the Halloween Party at PJs. Hard to say which was better. On the one hand, the crowd at the August party was larger, but it was a rainy night and we had to go indoors. For the October party, we had the benefit of the whole bar and the girls from WildTime were wearing rabbit ears.

The rabbit ears win. I nominate the Halloween party.

Well personally my vote goes to the first GT at Pjs between the 2. Easy decision... more people, first time meeting some guys, for some of us it ended very late too. Had fun at the second one too, but first one was more memorable as a GT if i can say. Second one missed Iggy, Joe T, Mitsou and many more...

Oh and the Jenny girl, friend of Isabelle Wolfe, wich had a unique way of speaking :eyebrows:, damn she was cute, too bad she never became a merb advertiser.

My vote goes for the August PJs party too...maybe it was just the excitement of meeting so many people for the first time, but I really had a blast. I've formed some great friendships as a result of that night.

This is not a vote but a comment, I was at two of the parties and liked them both(I like all parties, the party animal in me), but the talent level at the GG party was simply off the charts, looking forward to the next party be it GG or PJ's.:smile:

GG party (4th october) was the best party.
It was also the biggest as there was more attendees than the other public GTs. All guests were merbists by the way.

Could you honestly answer one question? How does one legitimize a vote on the best party by this board's membership that purposely excluded 99.9999999% of the membership??? At the moment there are over 2000 members online on Merb and I'd guess there were 30-40 (if that) members who went to the GG private party. At least in an open invitation party every had the same opportunity just like selecting the SPs.

Private invitation parties are a wonderful device. Gather the most prolific known spenders, some of whom are already dedicated clients who are enthusiastic about seeing the ladies again, and maximize profits. However, because of the guest size limitations it must exclude several hundreds other members with plenty of money (I don't have) and live near Montreal (I don't) who will be wondering why they were not invited, snubbed. In the case of private parties...keeping everything PRIVATE...is the best business move.

Besides we all know this was meant to be another directed agency promotion by a promoter.

The sheer numbers of thousands involved in the other parties should overwhelm the vote. No?

That`s funny....what is even funnier is that the private (invitation only) GG party had almost as many, or even more guests, than any of the public (open to all board members) parties in the last 5 years.
The PJ parties had less than 30.....The HDLM parties had less than 40....The MGF parties had less than 20 and the Devilish parties had less than 40.
I say the next parties should be open to all if they RSVP and pay a cover charge for food .
