... except that this will not make even a dent in hobby opportunities. These stings and busts are nothing new and the industry still thrives. A possibility of a bust will always be at the back of the mind and johns will be arrested too - but overall numbers will stay the same. In Iraq brothels get bombed and there was another one that the moral police elements found the need to bomb a month ago. So if the hobby goes on under those circumstances I don't think stings and busts will stop or even reduce it.

Yes, this bust was probably just a publicity stunt to keep some politician at bay that made a campaign promise to a group of feminists or bible thumpers. There was even a question on a game show I saw last week that asked the following: In the United States, which crime do majority of police officers believe should be decriminalized: 1. recreational drug use 2. teenage drinking or 3. prostitution. The answer was prostitution my a long shot. However, you have to make a few busts like this to keep the politicos off your back. This in turn will keep a pressure group off their back and so on.
