I am currently working on a documentary regarding the "underground" adult entertainment community. I am looking for a number of clients and SPs to be interviewed for this process. This is a video production. Clear releases will be provided for you to give a false name, and to detail the limits of filming (including if your face is shown, etc). Interviews would be about 30 - 40 minutes, and would be held in locations convenient for all involved.

Filming of this documentary starts within a couple of weeks. Interested people show PM me and let me know. Special interest in SPs, MP girls, and SJ workers, the objective of this is a balanced look at the whole thing, not some exploitive POS. You know I am in the hobby, so I ain't some outsider / reporter coming in and trying to crap on you.

Smoke and mirrors

You probably already have your storyline and angles and everything you need for your documentary. Nonetheless, allow me to indulge in some armchair-manager role-playing and suggest an angle you might consider -- that is "smoke and mirrors". In my short time in the hobby, I have observed how:

- agency girls pose as indies
- 30 year old SPs pose as twenty-somethings, 40 year-olds as thirty-somethings, and so on...
- operators pose as hobbyists
- pricks pose as casanovas
- shemales pose as females (urgh!)
- sex poses as love
- etc. etc.

It's all about life, n'est ce pas?

Actually those are all in ways angles of the bigger picture - there is the question of "why", "when", and "how" on both sides. There is the look at the expectations of each side, and how sometimes mutually exclusive goals (money, pleasure) come together in a decent little business transaction.

I already have a couple of people who have responded, still looking for as many as possible. Interviews and such are more of less as follows:

Rules are "no faces, no personal places" unless given permission. Names changed to protect the innocent (because we are all innocent). No making people look bad, no editting to make anyone look stupid... I am a hobbyist myself, and I don't have any intention of doing harm. I am just looking to expose the more human elements of a business that the public only sees from behind the "underage prostitution ring" headlines.

Sounds like your project will usefully puncture several myths about the hobby and the biz. Not sure I'm ready to go on-cam, but if you need any help with writing or editing the screenplay, I have some experience. BTW, is your project in French or English? Are you targeting the "cinema d'auteur" crowd? TV? A student film festival?

joeblow: I guess it is close to being an op-ed against the media's very slanted reporting of the adult industries, how you never hear anything except "raid" "arrest" "underage" "drug infested" and such being associated with the businesses. There are many other angles, some of which as a little hard to describe just like that.

the "on-cam" stuff really isn't on cam, participants will be disguised, not revealed, or otherwise just not put in the picture directly... who you are isn't as important as why you are.

It will be in the native language of the people involved, likely to be subtitled to the other language as needed. The target audience is a small group to start with, but with a goal for TV (probably cable)... after that, I don't really know. If it is well received, other things might follow.

Ronnie, it really would make the most sense in the NA market, because of the prevailing legal / public / moral issues of this sort of business. In Europe, they might find the whole thing just a little bit silly... but, hey, there ya go.

Hi Simple:

I have met with a number of people, I still have a number of people to get with. Progress is slow, as most people are willing to talk but few are willing to let those comments get recorded. There is generally a lack of understanding as to how this woudl be filmed (not showing faces, disguising voices, etc), and after discussion, I do have a few very good candidates for the project.

I guess some people are just shy

Simple, that is something I have considered... but I have had people say that if they see anything that could carry a camera, they would leave... so it would be hard to bring a camera to playback a tape, ya know?
