Pet project puts accent on luxury

Hotel Balto stands on the former site of a greasy spoon in Vaudreuil-Dorion. But there's nothing downscale about this inn for critters, where the royal suite goes for $99 a night. Talk about ruff-ing it.

There was a movie called Hotel for Dogs.

This is pathetic, IMO.

What's quite puzzling, on a human point of view, isn't the pet hotel itself. It's more than some peoples have enough money to use such service while it's probably possible to find kids who's parents don't have money to feed them correctly, probably living within 10km from that hotel.

Bha! It's a private business and it's users are private citizens using their own money so, I guess it's no big deal, it's only ironic...

I suspect that the people that have the money for this sort of thing will probably have people to give their pets personal service. Better yet, get an employee from your business to take care of your pet and its free.

What kills me about this is that like gourmet dog food, this pleases the owners far more than the pets. Pets want to live, eat, and act like animals. Yes, they like getting human attention and being cared for. But, no matter how much anyone attempts to clothe, adorn, or cater to a dog in high style...it's still a toilet drinker at heart who just wants to mark it's territory and a have place to lay down and lick it's genitals.

Sounds almost as dumb as spending money on strippers.

At least a stripper is a human being.

Selling female mystique, a natural need which men have, same as the need for food.

I can see that being a more legitimate commodity than 5-star accommodations for pets, when there are homeless humans.

But I guess that's just an unfortunate aspect of capitalism, seeing as how we must all bow before the almighty dollar.
