Is anyone familiar with how Public Health does contact tracing with a positive reportable STI test? Do they contact you for a list of previous partners, or do they maintain a database with information? For example, would they know to contact my ex-wife, even if we haven't been sexually active for a few months? Thanks for your help!

Public health contacts you and then there's some kind of anonymous reporting to the people you've been with or you can contact them directly. Public health doesn't have a database that I am aware of. {grumbles something about the government}

I just did an STI test, I do them regularly at the CLSC. After the test, they will contact you if you test positive for anything.

They will relentlessly contact you in several ways(text, phone and email) if you do not respond. I was told by the nurse where I went if I did not hear from her one week to the day I was there, it was good news. That was two weeks ago. In short, no news is good news.

The clinic will call, for sure, but not all STBBIs are reportable to public health.
