Basically you can rent a friend to go on a "date" in a restaurant, watch a movie or i dunno, maybe even play video games, for around 25$/h. Much less expensive than the usual 100$/h for social time with escorts :p

Comments are really more on the negative side on this. Some peoples consider this bad to prey on vulnerable and lonely peoples. The general reactions are disdain and "its pathetic to pay for friendship". Stuff like that.

What you guys think of this, i am curious...

If your a guy who pay escorts for social time, would you consider replacing those meeting by this? Since the bare minimal for a social hour is usually 100$.

Hmmm ... not bad. Wonder if I could rent a sucke ... er ... I mean friend to help me load/unload firewood to/from my truck. It’s a couple of hours work, so I’ll gladly pay the 50 bucks, plus refreshments!

For 50$/2h of this, i would gladly had to do it if i was close to you LOL

Not sure why you consider this "sucker" but 25$/h for unloading a truck is not bad at all.

There was one guy in the comments saying he would hire the person to do his home cleaning. The funny thing is you can hire a home cleaning lady for much less than 25$/h where i live LOL

Yup, I spent 7 hours lifting furniture this morning...I'll sure enjoy that $70.

On the rent-a-friend topic...I don't mind it, as an idea. If people wanna get paid and pay for it, their choice. I personally wouldn't do either, most likely. Getting paid, I'd probably not connect and I'm terrible at faking. Pay, I'm just used to doing things alone or at guilting my friends into doing things.

I wouldn't engage in this myself nor pay a SP for social time. But, as long as it's making the client happy, why judge? Like with SP, as long as no one is being exploited, I find it okay. Maybe there's a market for platonic friend sites similar to, but better than, CL's platonic friend section. The use of this type of service would really need to be destigmatised, however.

Look behind you.
There was a single mother in Calgary, advertised as cheap Karen. If you took her out to dinner and movie or where ever the time was free, sex was extra ( never met her ) and heard reviews were good.
I used to see an escort a long time ago, Lady Ino or something close, dinner time was free and pay once back in the room.

That I might do, STN, but I usually don't find that I have much in common with the SPs I see to have great dinner conversations. Maybe older SPs like cheap Karen (what a name!) would be better. Also, I would have to weigh having supper with an SP versus treating one of my friends for supper.

Look behind you.
When I am on Quebec the main people I know are my kids, I am here because of them. I enjoy a good meal out and know very few others, will not dine alone so on occasion an escort is needed.
Back in Alberta these services are not necessary. Just a thought but many business men are in Monteal, someone should set up an agency for dinner dates, advertise at major hotels, I can not see it failing.

HM, believe it or not, at times it’s really hard to find someone willing to do a few hours of hard work even for 100 bucks.

That surprise me. When i was younger it was basically a competition in the neighborough to get the jobs, every teen wanted them and obviously you had to charge not too much as peoples where hiring the cheaper ones most of the time. Firewood and fallen leafs at fall, grass cutting in summer, snow clearing in winter, stuff like that.

C'mon folks. This is a thread where guys are spending 200 or so loonies to stick their dicks in a combination of 1-3 orifices of attractive females for an hour, and to converse with that female when not thrusting the penis, tongue or fingers into those orifices. From a legal standpoint, we are actually purchasing companionship with someone who chooses to provide sex.

No one finds any irony in criticizing someone else for paying $25 an hour for companionship that does not involve sex?

Personally im not critizing it, i was just pointing what i read mostly in the comments on the facebook post. I feel to each there own thing. There is actually something i find much more "special" for a lack of a better term. Some guys enjoy what they call "financial domination" on twitter where you basically send money to an SP that sometimes you have not even ever see in person, all of this for her to insult you in return and threat you like shit and telling you you didn't gave enough and stuff like that. I was litterally reading a tweet the other day (retweeted by another SP i follow) that said something along the line of "don't get mad when your dom does not reply to you when you only gave 50$, there is others who just send her 100$, so don't be cheap" Something along those lines, im paraphrasing but it looked like that. I was like ":der: inside of me, as thinking she should be happy to receive 50$ for litteraly NOTHING, but then i guess this is there actual fun to be talk this way... This is what they pay for. This is what they want.

Its actually super hard for me at time to understand who simply play a role on twitter, and who is just a "mean person" trying to get as much money for as little work as possible while being very disrespectfull at the same time.

The worst case is when you see a very bad tweet who make you roll your eyes and think "oh cmon now..." and then you realize it was retweet by a favourite of yours... Not sure how to take it. Does it mean she really endorse this? :/

Im sure if i was playing a character myself and talking down the SP on twitter i would be banned/blocked and put on black list pretty quick lol.

Its really a very special thing to study, this whole twitter gig. Sometimes i have to hold myself to not reply something even tough im heating inside. I can not be sure if its truly meant as its says or its an in character kinda thing.

If this works well, then the government will ask to be part of it, just like Netflix or Amazone, Ebay, it will tax GST-PST on top of the $50 it will become $57.50/hour.
On va taxer sur toutes les services rendus ! même celui là . hahaha... :ballchain:

Yes! I do. I expected some righteous stone throwers when I read the first post. But whenever you read escort memoirs/interviews/blogs they always mention their clients who would pay just to chat, with no interest in sex. There is a niche for this I’m sure.

just like Netflix or Amazone, Ebay, it will tax GST-PST on top

I would think that it is anybody that can.
People think that it is almost a moral responsibility to not pay taxes if possible.
Considering the way our governments screw us, they may just be right.

Most contractors are willing to accept cash and give you a better deal.
Do you think most indies or agency girls or ones on BP etc report their true earnings if any, and I am not saying this to judge anybody it is just reality.
There will always be a cash system in place for certain services.

I think that it's probably difficult for most people to avoid paying most of their taxes in Canada. I can, however, see the argument you mentioned for trying to do so.

I really don't know whether most SPs declare most of their true earnings, but I would imagine that the temptation to not pay any income tax must be great. I probably wouldn't declare any if I were an SP. On the other hand, I once knew a violin teacher who started declaring most of her income in order to qualify for loans.

^^^^ Just a guess but SP's probably report a small perctage for income tax, same a a waitress or other tip reliant worker. I used to live with a bartender and she claimed 15% of her earnings as tips and made about 200% plus of her wages in tips.
Incorporate yourself and reap the tax savings, huge amount of savings if you have a good accountant.
Tip: If you have a long season ( many hours worked for a few months ) you can write off a vacation as a form of stress relief.
