I know but FFS I have had those problems in the past probably just as severe and never ever had the thought of killing myself, if I had their money I would make Hunter S Thompson look like an angel.
Permanant solution to a temporary problem.

Both Bennington and Cornell committed suicide by hanging. I think these guys were substance abusers and not really in their right minds when they killed themselves. In the case of Cornell he committed suicide while on tour with Soundgarden in Detroit, which is a depressing city, probably even moreso if one is warped by drugs.

And Thompson also killed himself (in his case with a shotgun).

He killed himself on Chris Cornell's birthday. I enjoyed the first Linkin Park album.

I worship almost everything Cornell did. I'm going to miss that guy.

I agree. I like the band Linkin Park, own the first album and have listen to other albums from time to time, not a crazy fan but like them, and yet i can endorse this action. Actually i don't even understand how can one do that. I would want to live forever if i could, i hate the tough of having to die, yet some famous rich musician decide to kill himself at only 41...

As Sam says, im ok with assisted suicide in the case of a deadly cancer and you know your last days will be very painfull, i wouldn't hold it against somebody being tortured in a prisoner camp either, but he had no valid reason to me. I have gone trough dark times as well, and everytime i say to myself the same thing, its only a matter of time and then things go back happy. I don't abuse drugs personally but again how can this be a valid reason?

About 30 years ago a middle-aged man blew his brains out with a .410 right in front of me. He had recently found out he had terminal cancer & had only a few months to live. I tried to reason with him, to no avail. How do you argue with a person in his situation? How do you try to make this person believe there are better days ahead when it's idiotic to believe so? How do you make someone change his/her mind when they've thought this over & over for some time and finally came to this decision and are set on ending their life? How do you try to convince someone it's the wrong thing to do when you've never been in their shoes and know full well you'd probably never have the courage to go ahead and ending it all once and for all?

Boom!!!!! It was over before i even had a chance to say another word.

You seriously have to ask that question? Troll politics but leave kids out of it.

I've had to deal with a family close to me whose 10-year kid hung himself. I certainly wasn't going to tell them that their son was a coward for doing so. Nor do i or would i even have believed he was. People do certain things for many personal reasons. Sure, it's very easy to call them cowards. But you have to be pretty ignorant to believe this. Every case is different and cowardice is the least of the reasons.

It's not up to people who lack a history of mental illness to say anyone who commits suicide is a coward. People commit suicide for various reasons. Chester & Chris had long histories of depression and mental illness. Being famous and rich doesn't make problems like that go away. While it's sad and sometimes baffling, you can never figure out what is going on in the person's mind.

I dealt with one case where a 16 year old, who became a donor, killed himself. Why? Because his girlfriend broke up with him. To think of the countless girlfriends you'll have in a lifetime and yet losing this one girl was somehow too much for him.

Way off topic, this is about a rock star not some 10 yr old. Thinking back you think Justine Trudeau is just super so I can see why you think a rock star hanging himself is courageous, you even like HRC which makes the puzzle fit even better.
Suicide is a permanent solution for a temporary problem and leaves wake of sorrow behind. Courageous should not even be mentioned.
