Where I belong.
One of the last surviving Brooklyn Dodgers has gone to his reward at the age of 81. While Cimoli is best remembered for starting the five run rally 8th inning rally that propelled the Pittsburgh Pirates to the 1960 World Series championships, he is also fondly remembered by some old timers here in Montreal.

Cimoli came up through the Brooklyn Dodgers system and played for the Montreal Royals at Delorimier Downs every year from 1949 though 1955, excepting 1953. His best year was 1955 when he hit .306 with 9 HR and 85 rbi.

Cimoli, a San Francisco native, was the first player to bat in a major league uniform on the west coast when he led off for the LA Dodgers in their first game in California in 1958.
