Sir Sean Connery has died aged 90.
The multi-award-winning Scots actor was best known for defining James Bond, and was the first to bring the role to the big screen.
He appeared in seven of the spy movies, and was knighted by the Queen at Holyrood Palace in 2000.
The BBC reported the death of the actor, who celebrated his 90th birthday in August, on Saturday afternoon.

Triste nouvelle. Je L’aimais beaucoup comme acteur. Il est le véritable James Bond de mon enfance. Repose en paix Sir Sean Connery.

RIP to a legend.

Many might say he was the best Bond, myself included - even though he wasn't my favorite. I suspect he'd want to be remembered for much more than Bond though - and he was great in many other roles... the Man Who Would be King comes to mind.

SavoySuit - Oh yes "The Man Who Would Be King" was a great movie. Also love his Oscar winning role in "The Untouchables" - The Chicago Way

This morning Sirius Radio played "From Russia With Love" theme song as a tribute to Sean Connery. I am going to post a different tribute song, "You Only Live Twice" by Nancy Sinatra, the theme song to that film and the video for which contains Sean Connery's iconic photo as Bond in that film:

Who could forget when Sean Connery brought a little of that Bond magic back in the famous umbrella scene in Indiana Jones and the Lost Crusade:

Around the corner
A true legend that brought James Bond to life.
I have seen all the James Bond movies multiple times, for me it was a toss up between Connery and Moore for my children Brosnan is Bond.
He will always be the original and the true James Bond.
RIP, he was a fabulous actor and had many good staring roles besides being the one and only real Bond.

As I said in my Best Bond thread last year...Connery was the Best Bond.
Such an illustrious career.
RIP Sean Connery.
I hope he and Roger Moore are sharing cigars and cocktails in the great beyond.

R.I.P Sean Connery.

Many remember him as the best Bond, to me he was memorable for Entrapment in 1999.

One of Sean Connery's most under appreciated movies is The Man Who Would be King in which he co-starred with Michael Caine.
