Searching a phone number and finding out the person is a masseur

So earlier this week I was looking for a cleaner for my apartment. I messaged someone who offered a pretty decent rate and I was about to hire him. Before that I did a Google search and it revealed that the phone number was also referenced in multiple massage forums. I didn't check further on whether he does proper massage or an erotic one

Anyway, I did not hire him at the end and chose a proper cleaning company instead because of the revelation. Just something interesting happened that I wanted to share.

I always Google the person's number. I gave away an armoire once and when I googled the number she was a dominatrix!!

I dont see the problem there.

If he's not a certified massotherapist, he may need a second gig to make ends meet. Massages, like cleaning, and like sex work, allow a lot of freedom
and control over one's schedule. Some people need that.

Does working as a masseur preclude someone from doing a good job cleaning? Also, as MPs revolve in and out of the industry on a constant basis did you check how recent those hits were? Could have been a reassigned number too. I don't really understand what the "revelation" was. What is it that made the guy unsuitable to do the work?

You’d be amazed at the kind of magic a simple phone number can work through Google. Turns out, one of my ex-girlfriends was a service provider back in her college days that's right, her profile picture from those days was even linked to the phone in question. Now, let me remind you, I met her at a restaurant and she never once mentioned her past as a service provider. Not that I care all that much, but a little heads up early on would have been nice. I even played a little joke on her, I sent her a message from a friend's number, pretending to be a potential customer inquiring about her availability and services. It was hilarious, and we both had a good laugh when she finally came clean. Who knew a simple Google search could uncover such surprises?

I was looking at kijiji for cleaners which do not come with recommendations from past clients, so often I would have to do some research on the advertiser. If every result from a phone number search are massage related, but not related to cleaning, that is a huge red flag to me.
Granted if I knew someone who can do a good job, I would have no problem regardless of their background.

I don't really know how you would know whether anyone could do a good job or not without trying them, massage phone number or not. You're not locked into continued services after all, and could try anyone for a single instance. You'd have to in any case, no matter who you hire, just to make sure they do the job you want. Still, if there are other reasons associated with that type of history that bother you, or you're uncomfortable, then that's your choice and your preference. After all, you do need to feel comfortable with anyone you're going to invite into your home for any reason, and I get that, regardless of what kind of job that person might do. If you're going to be worried about the person all the time then I agree that you should look for someone else who doesn't make you feel that way.

In my college days my my GF was in the business. She didn't tell me at first but one day she had to explain where she was and that's when she told me what she does. I said Oh, got turned on and dated for another 2 years.
