Stores Too Bizarre To Be Made Up

Last night there was a knock at my door.

A young (19-24) girl was at my door and she appeared to be in some distress. She was talking away at 90-miles-a-minute in French and I could not understand a word she was saying.

Eventually I hear her ask for a glass of water. I double-checked and, yes, she asked for a glass of water.

So I go inside the house to get her a glass of water.
She follows me inside. Warning bells are going off in my head.

As I'm pouring her a glass of water, she has slowed down now and I can understand bits of what she's saying.
She's asking me if I'm alone. Now the warning bells are SCREAMING in my head and I'm trying to see if anyone else is following her inside.

Before I respond, she says in very broken English, "Me...I'm escort. You interest?"
Even if I had the money on me, I would have had no interest. She was very young and looked a little "scruffy". No telling what she might have had.

I politely decline and she says she lives in Terrebonne and she's trying to make money to get home.
(at least she's offering to work for it instead of just asking for a hand-out).

I pull out the only thing in my wallet, a $20 bill, and I hand it to her. It won't get her to Terrebonne from the South Shore but if she takes the bus to the Metro, and the metro to Laval, she might make it from there.

Her eyes go wide as she's shocked that I'm just GIVING her money and her voice cracks and she almost starts to cry as she's thanking me.

As I watched her hobble away in heels that she can barely stand up in, let alone walk in, I think that she's going to have to learn how to walk in those if she's going to stay in this business.

As near as I can figure, she's a girl down on her luck just starting out and has no clue what she's doing. From the way she was dressed and the way she (couldn't) walk in those shoes, it was pretty evident she had no clue what she was doing. Probably placed an ad online and used the last of her cash to get to the South Shore. Either the guy turned her away (which I can completely understand...she wasn't unattractive just looked a little sad and pathetic which isn't good for the libido) or she was lured out there on a fake appointment as a prank. Had no money to get home from there.

Horrible place to get stuck and try to find someone to "earn" some money off. My neighbourhood is all families or older couples. I'm about the only one in the area who MAYBE would have been interested (and even I wasn't, really).

Maybe she was just going door-to-door scamming money (but totally the wrong scam for my area) but all it cost me was $20 (the price of going out for a meal or a few drinks).

And if she was genuine, then I hope I helped her get home safe.

PS: She drank that water so fast, at least that part of the story was true.

When I read this and saw your 10-24 I was confused, she could have been as young as 10 or as old as 24 ? That is a pretty wide range. Then I read the rest and ok, I applaud you for giving her $20 to get her part way home but really, someone young and vulnerable and you just let her walk away. I swear to you, I would have put her in my car and taken her to the front door of wherever she lived and made sure she got inside safely rather than let her stumble off into the evening. At the very least call the police and let them make sure she gets home. A young girl out like that in the night is so apt to be raped, hurt and robbed or killed, we need to remember to live our lives with some human kindness and understanding.

I meant to type 19-24.
Fixed it now, thanks for pointing it out.

If I had a car, I would have taken her home.
But I didn't so I gave her all the money I had.

Plus, at my age (in my 50's now) anyone under the age of 30 looks like a teen-ager to me.

Getting raped, hurt robbed or killed in my neighbourhood would be really unlikely. All family/old couple dwellings.

I live right across the street from an elementary school, for pete's sake.
Plus, this was at 8:00pm...when there really were actual 10-year-olds walking the streets by themselves.

At the very least call the police and let them make sure she gets home.

I'm sorry to say that I didn't think of doing this. I was a little disoriented by the whole bizarreness of the situation.
But somehow I doubt she would have stuck around to talk to the cops.

Never let anyone you do not know into your home, you might end up dead, injured or robbed.

A story I told on perb long ago but very relevant:

I answered an Escorts Canada ad for incall to my house.
Girl was same one in pics but massive photoshop and makeup work.
Terrible service, girl kept going to bathroom and looking in other bedrooms, generally creeping me out.
Also, she arrived in a beat up four door sedan with three guys. It sat outside loudly idling the whole time.
I had her out the door as soon as possible.
Waited a month or more to post a bad review on perb. I didn't want anyone else making my mistake.
Less than an hour later she phones me. Very loud and drunk, with a bunch of people yelling in the background. She says she knows where I live, she is going to burn my house down, her gang is going to fuck me up.
These threats are not taken lightly in Winnipeg.
Sold my house real fast.
Much more careful now.

We are in Quebec here. Where I live north of Montreal I would have done the same as PMikey no problem.

Cheers,
