With the big events coming up, I thought this would be a good thread to prep up for those of us who are going to host a party or go to one. Those of us unfortunate enough to not score tickets or want to pay $4.00 a beer at the sports bar. Heres a new one I just got... it's excellent

Buffalo Chicken Dip

2 10oz cans of chicken, drained
3/4 cup franks hot sauce
2 8oz packages softened cream cheese
1 cup of blue cheese or ranch salad dressing
1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Heat chicken and hot sauce on medium heat in a skillet until warmed through.
Stir in cream cheese, salad dressing, and 3/4 (or more) of the cheddar cheese until creamy. Transfer to a slow cooker, sprinkle the rest of the cheddar on top, cove and cook on low until hot and bubbly. OR put in an 8 x 8 in baking dish and bake at 350F for 20 minutes.

Dip with carrots, celery, triscuts etc etc.

This recipe will handle up to 20 people. It's a lot, so cut sizes for smaller batches.

You could use the canned 'flakes of chicken' stuff but if you look around you can find mechanically deboned chicken in cans and jars. Chop it up and it will give a better texture and flavor. You could also pick up a pre-cooked bbq chicken at Loblaw's or any other grocery store and remove and chop the meat. That would probably give the best taste of all.
One thing I would do is double the hot sauce, or have an extra bottle on hand for those who, like myself, like it extra hot and can just add a bit to taste.

Don't chop up the oyster. Eat that right away....by yourself.
