That was one of the most enjoyable games i've watched in recent times! Alabama nearly made the comeback but ended up losing their first home game in the past few years.....thanks to Trump, who was in attendance!

I see a Heisman Trophy in Joe Burrow's near future. He is having one of the best seasons by a college QB in memory and his performance level seems to go up even higher in the biggest games against the best teams, including today.

Undefeated LSU Tigers (most likely the No. 1 seed in US College Football) clobbered Georgia 37-10 behind four touchdowns by QB Joe Burrow, who probably sewed up the Heisman with his performance today!

Fir many folks Joe Burrows is already a lock for the heisman
And If I’m not mistaken he was a transfer from Ohio State , a team they might face in the playoffs

Burrow was indeed a backup at Ohio State for 2 years, and was also Ohio State Player of the Year as a senior in high school. If LSU and Ohio State both win their semifinal games Burrow would face Ohio State. However I think the final will be LSU-Clemson.

I haven’t really followed College Football this season like in many years past . But most NCAAF experts are predicting the same final as yourself EB

LSU is the big favourite judging from the big spread, but the Clemson vs Ohio State game at least on paper looks to be a much more closely contested affair , so we shall see

Heisman Finalists Revealed

https://www.espn.com/college-footba...hurts-de-chase-young-finalists-heisman-trophy

Although Joe Burrow is the heavy favorite among the 4 finalists for the Heisman Trophy, expect Chase Young to be the first of these guys picked in the NFL Draft next year. Young will probably go #1 or #2 and Burrow is not expected to be the first QB picked, although I would expect Burrow to go in the first round. Fields will be a leading Heisman contender next year, along with the Clemson QB, Trevor Lawrence. Lawrence has the greater NFL potential of those two and could be the overall #1 draft pick in 2021. Interestingly, I believe that both Lawrence and Fields are native Georgia kids.

OSU vs Clemson - Another outstanding game tonight. I was glad to see OSU go down in flames. The last few days we have sen some exciting football at some of the lesser bowls. Hawaii and BYU, EMU and PItt, and MSU and Wake Forest all went down to the wire. The EMU QB ejection at the end of the game was classic. He punched one opponant and then went to hit another and knocked down a referee.

I really think that D1 needs to do what D1AA and DII and DIII are doing and have a playoff. if these 3 divisions can do it why can't DI? The problem as I see it is that the talent is concentrated at the 4-6 teams that seem to get there every year. I think you can actually spread the talent out a bit. I also think the transfer rule is contributing to the disparity.

The Clemson QB Lawrence is highly impressive. Although only a sophomore, he is an extremely athletic specimen at 6'6" and his 68 yard TD run featured a jaw dropping cut which ankle-twisted an Ohio State LB who was completely fooled/surprised by the move and was left tackling air. He, like Burrow, could eventually be an overall #1 NFL Draft pick. I was also impressed that he was under a fair amount of pressure most of the game, took some very hard hits and kept right on doing what he is doing. He looks very strong and durable. Whereas Burrow is a Brady-like QB who sees the field really well, Lawrence seems more like the Peyton Manning type machine who is big and durable and makes all the throws.

i havent watched clemson that much and was surprised by lawrences running ability. it was clearly a game changer. the final touchdown where he faked the run, pulled up the safeties and passed it over their heads was a thing of beauty.

Second semifinal was much more exciting obviously
The Buckeye’s played great but too many field goals and a bad ref call did them in
Lawrence down the stretch showed why he is clutch. Should be a great championship game

The call that went against OSU was the correct one. And they settled for FGs in the red zone because of great defense by Clemson.

The difference in the game was Lawrence. He took 2 tremendous hits, one on a running play and the other on an unblocked safety blitz that knocked the wind out of him and left him on the ground gasping for air. He bounced right back from those hits, broke a huge TD run, and was clutch city down the stretch.

I think Clemson’s defense might be a little better than anything LSU has seen and something tells me it will not be an easy game for LSU. However if you look at Burrow’s season, his 3 best games came in the 3 biggest games his team played, against Alabama on the road, against Georgia in the SEC Championship game and last night against OU in the national semis. If he has another big game against Clemson it might be the best season any college QB has ever had.

I think it’s going to be a really good game. Don’t sleep on Clemson, they will show up for the finals.

Watched the game sporadically but had no dog in the fight EB , a fan of both these teams but a neutral
I’ve seen the replay 3,4 times but I could be wrong . To me it looked like a catch and let’s not forget that it wasn’t only a fumble, but a fumble returned for a touchdown and that would have changed the whole complexion of the game

I’m in agreement concerning Lawrence . He took a lot of hits but kept on going and made some great plays down the stretch,,, he is a tough kid no doubt about that and a good prospect for the pros

Burrows’s what’s left to say. I’m sure OSU wished that they had him playing last night . And as you pointed out he performs best on the big stage when it matters more and that is a hallmark of a great player
