I have been tipping dancers I enjoyed myself with. Am I making a mistake? Don't most of you tip?

No I don't tip, popular dancers make a lot of money (tax free) and if you're a regular strip clup patron, you probalby spend thousands of dollars on this hobby anyway.

Remember, a $10 dollar dance lasts only 3 minutes and a good dancer easily makes $200 a day plus free drinks she bums off customers.

However, I have tipped before but that is very rare. Just my $0.02.

Same as Voyager. My point exactly. All the money a girl makes is, for most if not all, 100% tax free, directly into her purse, with no deduction whatsoever. What she charge is how much she makes.
The company I work for charges over 10 times what I make, I pay almost 50% of my salary in taxes, and I'm not getting any tips!
I reward dancers I feel good with with my repeat visits and all the ones I like are prefectly happy with this.

I realized that they didn't pay taxes on their 'income,' but still felt that a tip was warranted as a sign of 'you went out of your way to show me a good time, I go out of my way to repay you.' But reading metoo4's words (quoted above; I'm also in a similar situation) makes me realize that I can no longer afford to tip dancers... and it may not be as worthwhile as I thought.

I thought it was A LOT more... granted, it depends on the SC, and not as much as escorts, but still more...

Yeah I was thinking closer to $500, but I'm relatively new to the scene so it's not as informed an estimation as some of you guys.

Being asked for a tip has only happened to me once: I took a very attractive dancer to the booths and within the 1st song, while doing an awkward move, she knocked over my beer. No big deal, there wasn't much left in it, a bit spilled onto my pants but most ended up on the floor... we quickly forgot about it and continued the dance. At the end she looks at me with a totally serious face (not with a smile, or giggle, implying humour) and says "You don't have to tip me." as in 'I waive your obligation to pay me more money' I was very much turned off... besides the fact that she totally didn't deserve one for the quality of her dances.

40 years ago John Lennon was vilified for stating that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus Christ. Well as of today if you compare the numbers on this thread and the other one Agrippa instituted at the same time, it looks like Montreal is more popular than pussy.

Tipping and drinks!

On occasion I have been asked for a tip by a dancer; I really hate that, and always decline. But I do tip if I really enjoyed the dance and was not asked for a tip. Another annoying thing is dancers asking you to buy them multiple drinks or expensive drinks. There was one dancer at Super Contact (now at Cleo's) who asked for a drink; when I agreed, she asked if it could be a double (at $17) - I declined the double. After dancing for me she asked for a tip....which I did not give her.

You are not the only one. It is rapidly becoming a pet peeve with me. This kind of thing I find as being very poor etiquette for dancers. There is almost a sense of entitlement there. It is quite simply bad manners. Tips or drinks are my prerogative. I will tip if she has offered me a more sensual experience. If she is all about the cash then forget it. I have offered a drink to a dancer on rare occasions if she is being particularly genuine with me in conversation. I actually feel more disposed to offer the extras when I see a girl digging into her own wallet to pay her drink. Just a thought but each time a customer gives in, are we not training the girls to keep up the begging?

A top dancer in a popular club makes a hell of a lot more than $200 a night. I've known many dancers who regularily took home about $500 a night on average. The girls at clubs such as Chez Paree and Wanda's, when it used to be busy, tend to make a lot more money than the average girl at a contact club as these clubs attract the high rollers who often drop 4 or 500 just having a girl spend the evening at their table talking. I would figure that a decent dancer working 5 nights a week, including friday and saturday nights, in a halfway decent club, pulls in more than the average escort. And a top level dancer in a good club with regular clients probably makes more than all but the most expensive sp.

You may come across some dancers who complain about having a slow or bad night. Usually this means they haven't made their $400, or whatever they consider a good night to be, yet. It doesn't mean they haven't made anything at all.

Oh yeah, one last thing...I'm basing my statements on dancers who work in reasonably popular and busy clubs. Of course there are quiet nights when no one makes money, as well as crappy clubs with few customers. If a girl decides to work in a lousy club then it's her own fault for making that choice.
