Lindsay Lohan was interrogated by immigration officials in Canada last weekend, who considered banning her from the country because of her drunk driving convictions.

The actress landed at Montreal Airport on Saturday for a scheduled nightclub appearance, but was hauled into a backroom by border staff after her 2007 arrests for driving under the influence appeared on a computer database.

A source tells Us Weekly magazine, "Because of her DUIs they didn't want to let her into the country at first. The customs people gave her a real hard time."

Lohan was finally allowed into the country after a one-hour interrogation.

Fees for A-list celebs to make appearances start at 10K for appearances of up to 6 hours. There are also fees paid to them by people who want to sit close to those celebs and even get to meet them. These 'fees' can be as much as 1K per person.

Presently, there's talk on the Toronto board about trying to get Megan Fox to appear at a private TERB party. Money talks. Most of these celebs can be bought.

I actually feel very sorry for her. If you look at her work in the early days, she was so talented. Well, I'm sure she's still very talented, but she has turned herself from a success into a disaster.

There are plenty of reports about Linds & Sam doing an appearance at a Miami club for $15K, then they played their iPod for 15 minutes and walked. People paid through the nose for the pleasure.

I thought celebrities got a pass to enter Canada, regardless of their rap sheets (i.e. Paris Hilton, 50 Cent, etc.)

What about all these athletes that come in to play the Habs, the Blue Jays, the Raptors, etc.?

most athletes ,musicians and celebs who are working in Canada will have their agents and team officials do preemptive measures before they reach the border.
if they have a dui,they will state they will not be driving in Canada and have their itinerary all mapped out.

just remember, all the earnings that are made in Canada,get taxed in Canada.
I have heard stories of American athletes who are injured and cannot play,
will decline going with the team to Canada to avoid paying the tax on their salary for that portion of the schedule.

Lindsay probably did this as a last minute thing,
to get $10,000, and whoever arranged it had no clue she would run into trouble at the border.
I wouldnt be at all surprised if Lindsay got paid in cash.
