You would probably have the same chance of being in a car accident or less than dying from going cold turkey. It's like saying someone can win a lottery, possible but not likely. Addicts go cold turkey many times when they run out of money or their source dries up.
As someone who lost someone due to them going cold turkey, I am not arguing semantics about this. It's a lot more common than winning the lottery and also a lot more serious.
EDIT : I also find it wild that people have an issue with safe drug use sites but these same people have been to a bar at least a dozen times... As if alcohol wasn't the deadliest of poisons
