LE situation in Montreal?

i have been away from the Montreal scene since trips in 2000 and my old site sexworkmontreal.com. Since then have been very active in Toronto - about 2500 posts on terb and was active when Fred Z (RIP) had his original board before the "erbs".

From a quick read here especially the massage section seems you have a much different legal attitude than in Toronto, Vancover and Victoria (also was on perb). If I recall correctly after C36, the Montreal police issued a statement similar to those other cities that they were going to follow the harm reduction model of the Supreme Court and protect the rights of sexworkers i.e. not enforce C36 with in private consenting adults. It seems however that at least in Lavelle (sp?) that has changed.

In Toronto there are no issues on what can be posted about massage, companions etc and of course the agencies now have incalls all over. Obviously no one pays for sex just for time with a companion etc.

I am sort of just peaking in here to see if its worth a trip to Montreal or best to continue just my about 15 years of trips to Toronto

I have been active here for a long time, and it has never been better. When I started, gfe was rare, now more or less standard. I would say variety is the spice of life, and you should make a change this year and come and see us. Quality is the same as Toronto, but prices a little cheaper. The girls of québec are very sexy, open-minded and modern women.

Although Toronto has clearly taken the lead as the economic and cultural center of canada, Montreal's economy is also doing great and is a strong second culture pole of the country. Although somme people dont like to admit it, english is as common as french in the center city.

As for LE. Very similiar to other cities in canada. Once a year around the grand prix (early june), some public effforts are made by the city and police to discourage the purchasing of sex, but has no real measurable impact.

Honestly, living in montreal as a 50 year old male is tgtbt. My only problem is i dont have enough money to partake in this activity as often as i would like (which would be 2-3 times per week)

I agree with the previous two posters that you should have no concerns about LE or anything else when planning a visit to Montreal. The escort scene, both outcall and incall, is going as strong as ever. It is at least as good as Toronto (yes, I have been there) and a bit less expensive. The French Canadian girls are great but there is now a fair amount of ethnic diversity among Montreal providers (though not as much as Toronto).

There are still a number of massage parlors on Montreal Island, but they operate somewhat under the radar. So you have do more research and planning to identify them and find them. There is plenty of info in the massage threads to help you. However, don't discuss or expect to find discussion of specific sex acts in the massage thread. That's against MERB rules and is designed to protect the parlors from those who might oppose them. The city of Laval, north of Montreal, has cracked down on massage parlors but that shouldn't matter to a tourist visiting the city of Montreal itself.

I think you would enjoy a return to Montreal. It would be a nice change from Montreal. I feel the same way about Toronto-I'd like to go back just for a change from my usual practice of visiting Montreal.

Agree variety is good it just that I know Toronto so well since annual trips for about 15 years - but stay near airport and Mississauga for strip clubs - thanks to liberal ex-Mayor Hazel for decades who retired at about age 90! I avoid the Downtown as much as possible and the horrid 401.

My impression of Montreal is the more sensual that I prefer vs just hot are the French Canadians and agencies. However, I do not speak a word of French so stick with the non-French speakers. Although now I have a good translation app!

CaptRenault - I read the rules here about MP which made me wonder about the LE situation vs discuss anything and no issues on the terb board. What the cops have in Montreal is license plate recognition. I was driving my sons car and got pulled over for various offensives. The cop said he could impound the car and I told him it would not be a good idea because I may be charged with assault later... He laughed and let me drive away.... there is no equivalent in montreal to what you describe in toronto. However, euphoria and xo are a short uber ride of each other - amongst others downtown. just those 2 places alone could keep you busy for a while. The best would be to book a nice place downtown, and leave your car in the parking lot. there are really a lot of options in a small radius centered downtown, including all the best strip clubs and massage parlours (pm me for info on mps).

Exactly ditto ! Good to see you around Dave. We probably traded a message or two long ago, but it would have been a different handle on a different board that are both now history.

I have enjoyed Montreal 5X as much as Toronto. I keep contemplating an extended visit to Toronto, but Montreal keeps pulling me back.

The massage scene in Montreal is wonderful and very diverse. Toronto wins on the high end MP scene - many places with tons of hot chicks and economical 40-minute options at 160-180. In Montreal you could compare to Le Penthouse. But Montreal spans such a wide spectrum. Many options for no or low mileage undraped, many HJ only places with young attractive women, etc. I bet you would like Mascarade, for one example. I have stayed near the YUL airport a couple times. I can recommend a good hotel with no key card required. Vogue and Godiva drive out to the airport, but Euphoria won't. You can reach a few MPs and strip clubs within 10-20 minutes drive.

Downtown has the most concentration of accessible hobby options, as well as everything else Montreal has to offer. Most or all incalls are downtown, and all agencies and indies will visit downtown. Consider staying downtown your first visit, and research more where all the places are for next visit. If you want to feel removed from the hustle and bustle a bit, try Old Montreal.

Thanks all good info and maybe for other newbies or oldies not in Montreal for a long time.
Mascarade website is all French on site, at least I don't see an English option. In Germany most all sites had both German and English versions and Montreal is at least part English!

My thoughts might be as 2fast2slow suggested since no Mississauga like area to just stay downtown and Uber around as I did all over Frankfurt. I hate driving in confusing downtown streets even with Google maps/WAZE and parking mess if as bad as downtown Toronto! So maybe I should just uber to a hotel from airport and forget driving, parking etc.

LE in Montreal seems to be primarily concerned about keeping the streets safe for everyone. I think as long as no one creates problems or engages in violence, the LE (and the politicians and even residents) look the other way as to activities in Hobbyland.

Very true. I see cops pulling over cars and ticketing the drivers. If you don't have a Quebec license plate, you're more likely to be pulled over for even the smallest traffic infraction.
