Come off what? I know how the system works and am merely being objective. If you provide a statement in which you admit to a crime, you could be charged. You are correct in your assertion that you might not be charged, but you could be charged. There's a risk, and the risk should be taken into account before filing a complaint.
In my opinion, the greater concern is being publicly exposed. If I were an SP, it's not something I'd want my family, future husband, or children to ever find-out about. But that's just me. Some people might not care.
So why would police in Montreal be any different, especially when outcall is not illegal.
Not all victimized sex workers are escorts who do outcall. I would wager that most of the vicitimized sex workers are the curbside variety. Curb work is illegal.

By all means, the woman who is assaulted must come forward and help police prosecute those who would assault them so that other women would not fall victim to the same ugly assault, which may be worse.
