Thread: Poker in montreal

    Poker in montreal

Are there any venues in the Montreal area to play poker, other than the casino? I am interested in tournament style, but it appears that the casino typically doesn't play tournaments on the weekends (which is when I will be in town).

I did a search on google and came up blank.

There is only one place for Poker in Montreal. I used to play a lot, but not as much these days.

Of the poker rooms mentioned playground poker is bar far the best. It offers 2-3 tournaments a day and cash running 24 hours a day. They offer free food and alcohol plus the waitresses are smoking.

thanks for the replies, much appreciated. Looks like Playground and Snakes are along the lines of what I am looking for. Now... any good strip clubs and massage parlors in the same general area?

I would also recommend Playground first but VIP poker is also a good 2nd option.
Free food is for cash games not tournaments.

    One last thought....

Do most of these establishments accept and/or convert US Currency? Or is that something I need to do before I arrive? Usually in my past experience places like this (if they offer it) tend to have better exchange rates vs. kiosks in the airport.

They do accept US currency. Sometimes you will even find guys at the table who are interested in buying your american bills. Your banking card will also work in the ATM,S.

Playground just accross the Mercier bridge in Khanawake, just follow the road, you can't miss it.

While there you can get cheap gas and smokes....

I wouldnt recommend the gas if its your car. Or a luxury car. If its rented or lease or shitbox. Than go for it

This weekend the Mercier is closed in one direction from 10 pm friday night to 5 am monday morning. You can cross the bridge to come back to Montreal but to go to Playground you will have to do a big detour threw another bridge like Champlain bridge.

Next weekend also there will possibly be closures for construction/renovations.
