can we prefer to get most recent messages in threads appear first ?

Is there a way for us to set Preferences such that the most recent messages in threads appear first ?

When I enter a thread, I have to scroll pages and pages to get to the most recent message. Sometimes the first message from 15 years ago appears first then I have to flip thru 5 pages to get to most recent message, just a bit frustrating.

Can we reverse that to get most recent message in a thread to appear first at top ?

This is not necessary, if you click on the last message in new posts, or the time it was posted, it will take you directly to the most recent message/newest message.

Maybe, but I don't think anyone here wants the older, often outdated, journals displayed first. I don't understand why Merb admins don't agree to change the default sort order. If we want to consult the oldest journals, it is also possible to do so.

You have not only ONE but THREE options ...
- - 1 If you have unread posts since your last visit, (indicated by "NEW") clicking on the thread title brings you to the first UNREAD post.
- - 2 If no unread posts since your last visit, following EagerBeavers' information brings you to the LAST and NEWEST post in the thread.
- - 3 If no unread posts since your last visit, clicking on the thread title brings you to the FIRST and OLDEST post in the thread.

So my guess would be if you don't want "the older, often outdated, journals displayed first" choose the appropriate choice for your reading enjoyment.
