Go Habs Go!

Primeau was brutal & continues to show that he’s not an NHL goaltender. Every time they put him in you expect them to lose. He may be the worse goalie in the entire league right now! He has a saving percentage of .840 which is absolutely brutal! You can’t win hockey games with that type of goaltending! You can’t win in hockey when you keep on allowing 6+ goals per game!
The lack of consistent effort has been a big problem this season. Inconsistency has been a killer. Goaltending (i’m looking at you, Primeau!) has been atrocious at times. The lack of right defencemen on the team has hurt. Young players like Strubble & Guhle should play on the wrong side! It’ll hurt their development & currently it’s hurting the team! They also need a centre to play behind Suzuki. Kirby Dach has no future as a centre. He’s lost out there & couldn’t win a faceoff of his life depended on it!
The biggest problem for me is coaching. Martin St-Louis is NOT an NHL coach. Period. And if you look at his track record in coaching it’s obvious that the experiment has failed. Yes, he was an experiment. I’m starting to believe that whomever had the brilliant idea to name someone who has never coached before either is a huge Ted Lasso fan or he must have been unaware of the disastrous experiment from the 90’s when team president Ronald Corey fired his coach & GM & replaced them with Mario Tremblay & Rejean Houle! Both had no experience in their new jobs as coach & GM which reminds me of the current situation with MSL & Kent Hughes, both hired with no experience in their new jobs.
Finally Kent Hughes has been a big disappointment this season. He hasn’t done anything to help his team be better. No trades that would help the team. At least it would show the fans the team hates losing & wants to improve the crappy product they’re selling. Now i look at the trades he’s made & several he made look terrible now. Say whatever you think of Marc Bergevin but there’s no doubt he cared tremendously for his team & wanted it to win! He made a lot of trades…a lot! And many of the smaller ones he made turned out great for the team! Bergie’s biggest fault as a GM was that he cared too much for his players…especially his favorites & he was loyal to them to a fault which is he got caught up in granting bad contracts. And if Marc Bergevin would have told the media & the fans that this season the team would be ‘in the mix’ for a playoffs spot i guarantee you that he would have meant every word & would have gone out of his way to make it happen!

It was the second game of back to back road games on consecutive days. The air had left the Habs' balloon when Kirby Dach committed that foolish penalty at the end of Saturday's game.
Tant qu'à perdre à moitié, aussi bien faire la course au dernier, pour une dernière fois.....je l'espère.
That’s not an excuse. Many teams such as Toronto a few days ago prove that you can not only win but play great in the second game of a back-to-back. Even former players say that the second game is irrelevant & is mostly just an excuse. Mike Matheson played a brutal game. Probably the worse game he ever played with the habs. But after the second goal scored in that stretch where the Bruins scored three goals in just over a minute he should have been taken off the ice after that second goal. But MSL kept him on the ice again & seconds later he screwed up again & the B’s scored again!
To be fair i’d like to point out that Matheson has been playing out of his normal position because of the team’s serious shortage of right-shooting defencemen. That’s why Matheson, Guhle & Strubble haven’t had very good seasons on the defensive side. They’re playing on their opposite side & this can be difficult. That’s why Kent Hughes needs to get off his bald ass & start doing the job he’s been paid a lot of money for & make trades to improve his team. This is the Montreal Canadiens. Not the San Jose Sharks or Anaheim Ducks. Enough sucking is enough! Hughes failed miserably in some trades & failure to re-sign some players that could help the team right now. Jake Allen should have been retained instead of the worse goalie in the league Cayden Primeau. Jonathan Kovacevic would look great playing right defence right now. The Devils absolutely love his game & he regularly plays 20+ minutes a game! Sean Monahan should have been re-signed. His absence has been felt tremendously! Arturi Lekkonen should not have been traded! That was his worse trade! And trading Alexei Romanov for what ended up to be Kirby Dach doesn’t look good on his GM resume. This team would look totally different with Jake Allen, Arturi Lekkonen, Alexei Romanov & Jonathan Kovacevic in the lineup! Hughes’ biggest mistake? Repeating the disastrous mistake of the Mario Tremblay hiring by hiring a coach with zero professional coaching experience. Jeff Gorton’s biggest mistake? Repeating the Rejean Houle disastrous hiring by hiring a GM with zero experience as a GM.
This will be the rare time where a line is made up of former overall #1, #2 & #3 players.
The list for the upcoming 4-Nations Cup has been leaked & Sam Montembault’s name appears on team Canada’s list. To the disappointment of many Habs fans both Cole Caufield & Nick Suzuki’s name do not appear on any list. I’m not surprised about Suzuki but Caufield’s omission somewhat surprises me.
Patrick Laine with his first goal as a Hab!
He scored on a great shot from the circle on the PP to give the Habs a 1-0 lead halfway in the middle frame. . However the Isles scored with a minute left to go in the second. 1-1 after two periods.

It was great to see Laine score but personally i found it to be a boring game. It was two very bad teams playing one another & in most of the arenas around the league the place would be half empty for this type of game. Both teams were desperate for a win. The Isles situation is even worse than the habs because they have become an old & slow team. This is on the GM. Do you honestly think he’s intere In a rebuild at age 82? Of course not! I feel for Patrick Roy. He’s pretty much stuck there for the moment as long as the old man is around.
I think he’s just happy to have a job coaching right now but no doubt he’d love the GM job also since he knows that once Lou is gone he’ll likely end up being out of a job with a new GM.
in just 2 games Laine has established himself as a main man player on this team. It's not an exaggeration to say that what he is doing for the Habs is like what Juan Soto did for the New York Yankees this past season.
