It can. There are different options. He has mentioned grabbing the wrong one can really burn.
And yes it smells awful.
Why it isn't something most women actually use. They have options now that smell better and options for more sensitive skin now. But personally I won't use it. Why I found it funny when he said he does.
I just googled, they now have a specific option for men. And there's the product Veet as well.

depilatory cream + scissors trimming to correct imperfections once every month or so works for me; I usually do it a day or two before a "date"
I don't like full shave, it is not necessary and in any case I like to show a bit of hair, plus after shaving, it gets itchy when hair grows back in a couple days (for some reason the itch doesn't happen with depilatory creams)
If you follow instructions you won't get burned by depilatory creams, just a matter or taking a shower and removing all after 10 to 15 min (or less if you feel like it is hurting)

What about laser hair removal for men? Has anyone gone that route to get rid of their pubic hair for good?
I use Phillips bodygroom 7000. It is very gentle on the skin. I use it on the balls, the base of the shaft and all around to get a smooth and gentle finish. I shave before every meeting. I will sometimes apply some body lotion afterwards to make sure the skin stays hydrated. I basically make sure i provide the ladies the same thing I like them providing me.

Seconded. Even the Philips One-Blade works really well bc the trimmer parts are non-grabbing and the "blade" part is more of a surface that doesn't have a sharp edge to it. Takes 5 min to trim and clean the hedges.
I paid 60$ for mine. A Little moré expensive than the 40$ but not the end of the world.
I absolutely love it. It is very safe. I have not once cut myself and I must have used it over 100 Times. In all farines when I do my balls I stretch the skin and go slowly and carefully. Much like I would stretch the skin in my face when shaving. As I said is have before every single date I have this the fréquent usage. Honestly I have grown to like being on the leather down there. I tend to sweat-shirt a lot so it helps keep the are a dry and hence prevents odors. I also sometimes use a Venus razor when I want a baby skin share. Found that a lady’s razor made for the bikini does wonders and is also very gentle on the skin. I have read about Nair but never tried it.

When i was looking for one, the cheapest Mascaped was 70CAD and up to 120.
Don't know if there's a huge difference since i tried one but mine works perfectly. Before that i had a Philips that died on me and i realized that the technology was much better than before. i used to have micro cuts with my oldest one that's not the case anymore

Today is manscaping day for me after several months of neglecting that area. I’ve been shaving it for the past 15 years or so for various reasons. Prior to that i’d just keep it trimmed since i hated seeing a girl interrupting bbbj in order to clear her throat of a pubic hair. I also figured they’d prefer sucking a bare cock than one surrounded by pubic hair. Over time i felt my appearance was better with a clean shaven look & got used to it.
