I saw a new release on Prime which I really enjoyed yesterday called "Crime 101", starring Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Halle Berry with Jennifer Jason Leigh and Nick Nolte in small supporting roles. It's a heist movie about a clever jewel thief played by Hemsworth who is being tracked down by an LA police detective played by Ruffalo. Sort of a throwback kind of film. Worth watching I give it a B+

I'm really struggling to see why people like this movie so much. I liked both Chris Hemsworth's and Halle Berry's performances and thought they did really well projecting their character personalities but I thought the writing was a bloody mess. There were so many unresolved issues at the end that it actually bothered me (especially the one with Nolte, which seemed like it should have been a central plot issue) and the logical inconsistencies bugged me too, where some things applied in one case but not the other, without giving spoilers away. It's not that I didn't enjoy the movie, it was an ok watch, but I expected more and was positively shocked to see the love for the move, although a lot of people complained about the unresolved stuff. It was a C- watch once and forget type of movie for me. Maybe it was just me on that particular day but I didn't see much to get excited about.

I recently watched Narc, a gritty cop drama from 2003, directed by Joe Carnahan.

Highly recommended if you like gritty brutal cop dramas. It's a film about Detroit cops investigating the death of an undercover cop who turned junkie and the suspicious circumstances around his death.


Brutal film and a film with powerhouse performances from Ray Liotta & Jason Patric.

A Bronx Tale. Forgot how good old movies can be. Great story telling, limited blood and guts that is so excessive these days for no reason.

Project Hail Mary (2026)
Great scifi movie starring Ryan Gosling which i saw last week & absolutely loved! One of the best scifi movies i’ve seen in a while which i’ll watch again once it starts streaming on Crave or Prime.

Shelter (2026)
Newest Jason Statham movie that i watched yesterday. I love a good Jason Statham movie & this one didn’t disappoint! I loved it! He plays a reclusive former paramilitary soldier living on an island inside a lighthouse who looks over a young girl he recently saved & he needs to reluctantly get back into action when their lives are put in danger by bad people he once worked for. The script kind of remimded me of a script you may see in one of the Equalizer movies which i also absolutely loved! The vilain is played by well-known British actor Bill Nigh. I loved it! 4 out of 5 stars!
