Even if i stay in Longueuil, i still have to take the subway to get there.

But hardly anyone is going that way The platform is 5 % compared to the others going downtown

The thing I do not like about the race is that even if all the bleacher seats are not sold out they will not sell a 1 day ticket for the final day. There are still some family bleacher seats available but the location sucks and no big screen to watch, I think stand 33 still has some seats available for a reasonable cost. I refuse to get general admission seats because unless you get there first thing ( and I mean very first ) your view sucks as there are only about 3 places to sit. I may try and get a scalper ticket just before the race, I got lucky 2 years ago and got a fantastic seat at the Sienna corner for $150. I usually drive and park at the La Ronde parking lot, only a 10 min walk to the gates.

The yellow flags kind of piss me off, a driver gets a lead and a yellow flag pops up and everyone catches up then at the end of the race another yellow flag and the driver who has the best times screws up once and loses the race...... all due to yellow flags. I know that is the way it is but it must piss off the drivers.

True. But you still have to wait in line for like two hours in scorching heat in order to get to the subway station. Once you're inside, it's no problem. But it's to get there.

What a crazy ending. Mercedes fucked Lewis, giving the win to Nico

Hamilton didn't even want to come to parc ferme at the end
I wish NBC didn't switch to soccer, as I wanted to see the baby freak out...

Ha - for a guy that just got a $50 mil / yr contract, Lewis is (and always has been) really a bitch

I found an NBC affiliate in NYC that broadcast the small podium ceremony, and Hamilton took his bottle of champagne, and walked off the podium, and walked away by himself

Somebody walked up to him and was talking to him, and I think it was a guy from the FIA :noidea:

Then I had to leave, so I missed what happened next

If I was Rosberg, I would have sprayed the champagne in Hamilton's face

Remember , Hamilton liked to spray champagne in the face of those defenseless girls on the podium

I never stay till the end of the race, as I get general admission..I always am situated around the bridge with 10 laps to go
By the time I enter the metro station, there is nobody there

They always broadcast the race end that night anyway downtown

BTW I was strongly considering traveling to MTL for F1 (not for the partying but because I am a fan) but it sounds like I would be better served watching it from home

But if I go.......according to Google Maps, it is about a 6km and hour walk to Downtown MTL....has anyone tried walking back (versus standing in line for Metro)?

I'm pretty sure the bridges are closed to pedestrian traffic

I'm probably wrong

Tickets are probably not that hard to get. However, from past experience hotel rates are jacked up during GP week and expect to pay at least triple the regular hotel rates. And most are sold-out.

I've decided to skip this year's GP, even though i wouldn't have minded going there this season since i haven't missed a race yet....on tv, that is. But i'm weary about security for this year's race. The subway ride between Berri & the Ile St-Helene line could be a problem re: possible terrorist act. And considering the situation in the world (e.g. Isis) and the fact Canada has been threatened in the past, i figure it may be wiser to skip that weekend. I'm certain that everything will go well, but you just never know. So i'd rather stay home and play it safe.

Crescent Street is always entertaining. Will be there Saturday and the race on Sunday. Weather looks good.
