Ellsbury deal was Tampa/Levine and Hal, not Cashman. 100% and so was the Chapman signing this past offseason. I am not that perturbed by the Chapman deal because he is a premium relief pitcher, but some of that money could be used to sign Darvish. I agree with you that Darvish would be a nice addition for the Yankees next year but many teams will be after him and we will get a huge contract. He is a tremendous talent although the other night Tanaka actually outpitched him in 0-0 duel lasting one more inning. The Battle of the Japanese stars was a draw but the Yankees did end up winning that game.
no prob on the chapman deal either im happy he said he wanted back in and did. he is a baller, and betances gives me the robertson feeling when in the pure closer role.
glad he was grabbed in the first place when he was a hot potato in the league due to his spouse abuse thing.
d if
btw i always liked Robertson (as a setup guy), but for saving some cash, cashman or whoever it ultimately was, did the right move in letting him walk since we had enough emerging depth to not feel his loss.
yes, tanaka manned up against darvish, tanaka got pride. but lets see how he does in his followup start. doesnt matter what he did if he tanks next start cuz that suggests he gave up everythin just to look good versus Darvish.
