This Arber really seems like a prideful kind of guy but over what? What exactly has he done in the league so far except prove he can rack up PIM with the best?
Absolutely nothing other than having worked at Costco a year before unexpectedly making a very bad habs team. He’s also one of the rare players on that team not afraid to drop the gloves so that’s pretty much his claim to fame. His hockey talent is average at best & he has a knack to make bad hockey decisions which often end up hurting his team. To be totally honest he likely would have been cut from half of the NHL teams out there. But since the habs are once again a bad team he continues to be on the roster. But barely.

That is a Saturday afternoon game on Thanksgiving weekend..........I might just be there!!!!! Traditionally it is a huge SHOPPING weekend in NYC with Black Friday sales. The train will be packed, but it will not be my first Thanksgiving weekend spent in NYC. As a matter of interest that area around MSG, and particularly the Empire State Building, draws big crowds that weekend.
Just priced the seats on the Chase Bridge facing the benches looks like they are around $422 US Dollars. So the cost of 1.5 hours with a Montreal escort plus tip.

The way i saw it Trouba delivered a legal hit. I felt it was somewhat dirty considering the score of the game & late in the third period. But it appeared legal. Barron is as much at fault on that play for admiring his pass & his lack of awareness.
The NHL agrees and specifically approved of the Trouba behavior on that play:
I think it's just a lot of whining and crying from a team that was badly whipped 7-2 on the ice.

I commented on different head hit in the past, regardless of who or which team it was. Yeah Montreal is my team but I’m not a blind cheerleader.
The NHL decision on Trouba is ridiculous, I watched several angles on slomo and it is pretty obvious. But it’s not the first ridiculous decision and it certainly won’t be the last.

The only thing Trouba is guilty of is being taller than Barron & not stepping out of the way to let him go by. Seriously this isn’t peewee hockey. Being nonchalant on the ice & not expecting to get hit comes with a price. Hopefully Justin Barron learns from this.

Trouba had to hit him, if he just stepped out of the way and let Barron go by what kind of half assed defense would that be? It was shoulder to chest, not head. Watch out for the Trouba train! Barron stepped on the train tracks and when you step on the train tracks you get hit by a train:
Trouba is team captain of the Rangers and he sets an example with his physical style of play protecting his goalies from foreign invasions. That attempted invasion by Barron was stopped as effectively as the Ukrainians stopped the Russian invasion.

Yrouba has a long reputation of blind and dangerous hit to the head.
Last night his hit on Barron was absolutely useless. Barron was already out of the play, the puck was long gone.
Another cheap and dangerous shot.
I wish to see the time he will be severely hurt by a body check or in a fight.

I didn't know that hockey was a war. I suppose you will applaude when a player is killed !
I have been watching hockey since the 1960 and was happy when the CH put an end to the Philadelphia Flyers goons reign.
It happenned in a pre-season match when the CH used a couple of their American League goons. They gave lessons to the Flyers goons. Habs tough guy Sean Shanahan showed them who the boss was on ice.

Womanizer,

I believe it was very thoughtful and considerate of Trouba to go shoulder to chest rather than shoulder to head, don't you? He spared Barron a concussion. He kept it all legal. It was an empathetic thwarting of Barron's invasion into the Ranger's defensive end. And nobody got killed.

Thats bs, he went straight to the head, Trouba’s way! One day he will get it back to him. Come on everybody knows Trouba.
From the ESPN article above:

"Upon review by the NHL, it was determined that Trouba's hit was a legal full body check with Barron's chest as the main point of contact. If there was contact with Barron's head, that contact was covered under Rule 48.1, which considers "whether the player attempted to hit squarely through the opponent's body and the head was not 'picked' as a result of poor timing, poor angle of approach, or unnecessary extension of the body upward or outward."

It was completely legal. Trouba is very experienced and knows how to deliver the legal hit under Rule 48.1. This is why he is the Rangers Captain. I think part of your problem with the hit is that Barron skated at full speed into the hit, which was foolish and unnecessary. It made the collision worse than it needed to be. In my opinion Barron had a duty in that situation to slow down and either initiate contact or absorb the hit that was coming, and not come in at breakneck speed oblivious to what was about to happen. His negligently excessive speed and inattentiveness greatly contributed to the volatility of the collision.

Barron’s chest & shoulder were what Trouba targetted. Barron lowered his head to brace for the impact. He likely did suffer a concussion but it was likely caused when his head hit the ice hard after falling. Whatever people think this is part of Jacob Trouba’s game & what keeps him in the Nhl. Handing out tremendous legal bodychecks. You even have players such as Scott Stevens that are in the HoF for handing out similar or even worse bodychecks throughout their careers. On the bright side Barron’s absence means that fan favorite Arber Xehkaj likely takes his spot nack in the limeup as the team’s 6th defenceman.

According to the Caps GM Backstrom will likely never play hockey again & is expected to spend the final year of his contract on LTI reserve. His hasn’t responded well to his bilateral hip surgery which he underwent to try to fix is years-long hips problems. Oshie also looks like he’s approaching the end of the line. As for Ovie the reason he’s still playing is because he’s trying to break Gretzky’s goal scoring record. Considering it’ll take him at least two more seasons to get it I’m wondering if he’ll still be a Cap player when he finally gets it. Washington’s patience may eventually run out.

Matt Rempe sent down to the minors

Rangers just sent Matt Rempe to the Hartford Wolf Pack. If it were me they should send him to power skating school in order to improve his skating, which isn’t up to NHL standards. With better skating skills he’d be able to follow the action & show the coaching staff that he can be trusted on the ice & not a defensive liability. This is still NHL hockey & not boxing. It’s not supposed to be a daycare centre for goons who can barely skate.

Rempe was beaten out by Adam Edstrom in training camp for a spot on the team, and Laviolette favors Jonny Brodzinski for that spot on the roster. The Rangers want Rempe playing full time in the minors so that if one of these right wings gets hurt, he can be recalled:

Indeed. That’s usually why players are sent to the minors. To play regularly & wait for a chance to replace one of the players on the main team. Similar to Arber Xehkaj’s situation in Mtl where he’s been mostly sitting in the stands due to numbers game. Maybe he would have been better off playing regularly in Laval. Anyways he’ll likely be re-inserted in the lineup now to replace Justin Barron who’ll be missing a few games after getting run over by the Trouba freight train.

WOW....JETS are now 7-0....the best/NHL.....talented /solid players and goaly......very impressive.
Another team that’s been extremely impressive are the Minnesota Wild. They still haven’t trailed in any game this season & are now close to the modern day record set by the Boston Bruins in the 1969-70 season. They are about a game-and-a-half game away from the record.
