Interesting that a nerve agent (think of RAID and its action on ants) is used, as opposed to the radioactive plutonium laced tea that was used to poison Alexander Litvinenko back in 2006.

It seems like the 33 year old daughter who was visiting from Russia was not an actual target but rather someone who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, much to the detriment of her health.

Russia clearly was not happy with this guy.

Look behind you.
Easy to see why he won the election and everyone likes him, he even gets to score many goals in a hockey game.

Look behind you.
I can picture the conversation with Putin and the assassin.

Assassin: How do you want the job done, car crash, fake mugging, drug overdose?

Putin: No, in the middle of the day kill him and his daughter, use one of our nerve agents so everyone knows it was me.

STN,

I understand your post but I think you misunderstand what’s going on here. It’s not about subterfuge in causing the death, it’s about inflicting maximum suffering before death which is important here. Both Litvinenko, who was similarly poisoned, and this dissident were viewed as traitors and were very critical of Putin. This guy was believed to have compromised Russian agents, possibly causing some deaths. It’s a massive treason. And not to justify the retribution, but the Russians didn’t believe he deserved a quick painless death along the lines you suggested. This is how they are seeing it. It’s also a loud message of deterrence to would be traitors.

The daughter was collateral damage. A civilian in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Something smells fishy here. Modern military type CW such as VX causes almost instant death. The person gets unconscious within a couple of minutes and there is not much suffering. Also, collateral damage when used in a densely populated urban center is very likely as the lethal dose is miniscule. Russians may be evil but they are not stupid in such large degree. There are many more “intelligent” ways. In the case of Polonium, the collateral damage was practically excluded as it effects only person that ingested it inside. It also decays fast and the brits discovered it by a pure chance. These are two very different cases. This one looks like some "false flag" job.

Whoa, just seen her on tv, def not the same chick when u google her!

Yeah she is kind of rough looking. But she was visiting her father and the nerve poison apparently meant for him equally sickened her. Reportedly both of them remain in critical condition. Undoubtedly their livers and central nervous systems were seriously fucked up. From what witnesses reported her and her father appeared drunk or intoxicated and “out of it”, which would likely be consistent with early stages of ingesting these nerve agents.

Maybe that's what Putin has on Trump. I wouldn't be surprised if Putin would try poison Ivanka, Baron, Eric or Don Jr. if he felt Trump betrayed him. And Trump knows this.

p.s. You probably wonder why i didn't name Tiffany or any of Trump's illegitimate kids. Trump doesn't care about them so that's why they're safe.

No need to threaten Ivanka, Baron, Eric or Don Jr., the golden shower videos seem to be working on Trump just fine.

It's getting a bit Cold War-y... 2.0

A bit. I don't have that existential "the bombs are on a hair trigger" vibe I did back then. But I'm not appreciating the re-run.

Just for you, Clara, have you seen this?

Bukh said he couldn’t speculate on the motive of the Russian consular visits to Nikulin but noted they came in the same month as “activities such as Skripal” – a reference to the poisoning of Sergei Skripal, a former Russian spy, and his daughter, in Salisbury, England, in March, just as the Czech Republic extradited Nikulin to the United States.
