Anyways, just wanted to see how many merb members enjoy the world of video gaming as much as I do.

Currently the games I'm playing that I love are

Metroid Prime 3 (Wii)
Jet Grind Radio (Dreamcast)
Skate (Xbox 360)
and

Psychonauts for the (xbox/PS2)

My favorite of the 3 is definitely Psychonauts, its got to have the most incredible and funny story I've ever experienced in a video game.

The opening sequence was what made the game so amazing to me. Check it out and you will love it too

Btw skate is incredibly awesome as well, for those of you sick of Tony Hawk like me, let me just say that this game is incredibly awesome ! It just reinvents the genre.

Not a gamer but when i feel bored, sad or simply have too much spare time (1 or 2 times a year), i used to plug my old Intellivision II on tv and play to "Lock'n'Chase", "Burger Time", "Night Stalker" and so on... Good ol'days.

Got some computer games like "Call of Duty" set or "Brothers in arms" but since i'm no more a gamer, i prefer to play with Photoshop CS2 and my photograph stuff. ;)

I play strategy games mostly. My current favorite is Company of Heroes (World War 2 theme). The AI is extremely tough and I really appreciate the realism when it comes to how quickly your forces can collapse when you lines are breached. I tried online competitive play against others, but there are far too many people with hacked maps. I wonder why they bother.

I have been playing NFS Most Wanted on Windows Vista. Downloaded the patch, upgraded my DirectX but the game still moves a snails pace.

Any ideas?

Xbox:

1) Leisure Suit Larry™: Magna Cum Laude (completed it but still occasionally play the "stripping" games or rewatch the endings).

2) Fight Night 3

3) Midway Arcade Treasures
4) Midway Arcade Treasures 2
5) Midway Arcade Treasures 3
http://midwayarcade.com/

MAME Arcade Emulation
1) Punch-Out
2) Burger-King
3) Ms. Pac-Man
4) Super Punch-Out
5) Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr.
6) etc.

I basically like the old style arcade games from my days of going to the arcades.

One genre of game that is long gone and sorely missed:

Turn-based squad-level strategy games

My favorites:

Soldiers At War (unbelievable! spent many long hours on that)
Incubation
Jagged Alliance 1

Though I didn't like:

XCom: UFO
Jagged Alliance 2
Fallout Tactics

according to www.gamerankings.com, apparently the best games of the moment are:

Half-Life 2: Episode Two
Team Fortress 2
The Orange Box (which is a compilation including the above 2 games and "Portal")
Halo 3
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

I'm not sure if you consider this a sex video game but Leisure Suit Larry™: Magna Cum Laude is rated for a mature audience and has nudity as well sexual situations/scenes/dialogues. Depending on whether you have the Canadian version or American version, during the game, you'll either get full nudity (Canadian/worldwide version) or top nudity only (US version). Outside of game-play, the character pose shots (in the unlocked/treasures feature) always have a censored bar over the bottom half of the screen.

I've also tried the Playboy game for the Xbox but I'm not really into the Sims type game. However, this game has some sex scenes (cowgirl position with ladies that you as Hugh happen to click with). The nudity in this game is only top/frontal nudity.

I've seen some really adult-orientated sex games for the PS2 reviewed on television awhile ago. These titles were/are available only in Japan from what the reviewers mentioned. The ones I've seen consist of Japanese anime-type style cartoons. I'm not sure of the titles but if you've ever seen an adult Japanese anime cartoon/video/movie, you know what I'm talking about.

Those of you with PS2's who are going to Japan and planning on getting these titles should be aware that unless your PS2 is modded/hacked, I don't believe that you can play Japanese PS2 game CDs.

The only adult game I ever really played was BMX XXX.
I kinda had fun with it.

Your bmxer is a nude women. The humor is also funny.

Some favorite games are Half Life 2 plus expansion packs, Counterstrike is a great way to let out some frustrations playing against live opponents, Prey, the original Doom and Doom 2...never could get into Doom 3. The Quake series is also worth checking out. But the game that I spent the most time playing was Duke Nukem 3d. When it came out we would set up a network at the office on friday nights and play deathmatch until past midnight! Great times. I'm still waiting for Duke Nukem Forever to be released before I die!

For adventure fans some of the best games were the Tex Murphy games...still my benchmark for quality adventure gaming with involving storylines. Well worth playing if you find them in a bargain bin and you have an old enough system lying around as they won't run on today's hardware and operating systems without a lot of workarounds. These were live action games with actors instead of rendered characters with cgi environments.

Also for adventure fans there were the Gabriel Knight series of games that most gamers consider the best adventure game series ever. Well written and the storylines were so good that I actually ended up researching the storylines on the net! Check out the storyline from GK3:

GK3 is a fantastic blend of ancient and not so old history, Christian mythology and Jesus Christ in particular, Freemasons, Knights Templar, Priory of Sion and other secret societies, stories of the Holy Grail (which turns out to be something quite unexpected),

Sound familiar? Like a certain book that everyone just had to read while waiting for the movie last year? The DaVinci Code. And this game was years before that particular book came into existance! I wonder if the author Dan Brown, ever played this game.

For an adult gaming experience this is probably the most fun and sexually explicit game that is still worth playing...Lula 3d. If you can find a copy that is. http://www.justadventure.com/reviews/Lula3D/Lula3D.shtm
Makes Leisure Suit Larry seem like Bambi. But Larry was a great game when the series first started back in the 80's. If anyone wants to try Lula3d, let me know and maybe we can work something out if you feel like downloading a couple of Gigs of data via ftp.

Now I think I'll load up the latest Call of Duty demo and go and kill something!:D

Happy gaming!
