It’s hard to generalize.

Everyone I know personally seems to be doing just fine. Business as usual.

For me, the nature of encounters is definitely shifting. Fewer appointments overall, but longer, more deliberate engagements.
I don’t offer discounts for extended time. I believe depth is worth every minute.

So yes, less volume, more value. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

There’s no doubt that the economic situation in Quebec is challenging right now. Across all the sectors I follow, I’m seeing signs of consolidation and job losses. It’s a difficult period for many, likely affecting lower- and middle-income groups the most—though I haven’t verified the data to confirm this. I’ve also noticed a number of people being pushed into early retirement.

Just my two cents: those earning high enough salaries to remain unaffected seem to be continuing their hobbies and spending habits as usual. Personally, I feel very fortunate—things are going well for me professionally. So while the higher end of this hobby may remain stable, I suspect that lower-income hobbyists may start scaling back their activities.

Here’s hoping the economy rebounds soon.

It's hard for me to tell the difference because when I started 3 years ago, I had a completely different client base and my branding wasn't as polished and studied as it is now. My business really started taking off last year I'd say, and there are ups and downs, but I don't notice that things are slower.

I have less inquiries as I did 2 or 3 years ago but I don't make less, because I get more bookings that are longer than a hour.. I get less half hour bookings. (And it doesn't seem as worth it for me to offer those anymore) My appointments are also more pleasant and I get treated with more respect generally

I also wouldn't say my clients are super wealthy, it's just that they're mostly not interested in booking escorts all the time or prefer to stick to the same few providers.. it depends on what your priorities are as a client.

It's partially a supply thing.

Young girls (listed 18-21) are simply not entering the hobby.

Not sure why that is.
It was the massive stimulus during the pandemic that slowed the recession. We are slowly descending into one now. Business is slow, consumer spending is down. The people that have money are careful. In previous recessions the real hard times come when there are announcements of massive lay offs and business closings. The closing of The Bay is a harbinger of things to come. More SPs will enter the hobby when jobs are McD's are hard to get. - BTW fewer clients at McD's because of higher prices.

Unless you already have a strong following, you’re barely legal or your willing to have sex with 200+ in a day chances of you making hundred of thousands are very slim

Women (and others) choose this over in person meetings because it’s safer, they don’t have to leave their place, they get to choose who they have sex with and they don’t have to work as often
What do u consider a strong following

SP's don't enter ''the hobby'' (it's not a hobby for us, it's a job) because ''jobs at mcd's are hard to get'', we enter the industry because we don't want to work full time at minimum wage (because who does??), or we literally can't, for various reasons. Being a SP offers a better quality of life for many of us. Hope this helps. :)

Bills are paid and needs met X2 or more = strong following

SPs supply hobbyist for what they need/want. SPs offer the supply for need or sometimes greed.

Yea but is there a certain number of likes or a rank on OF that corresponds to a certain number of dollars ?

50 000 followers and more on social media is a strong following

if you post good thirst trap people will want to subscribe to your onlyfans

If you charge $15+ per month you’ll make good money

If you charge $3 but charge $50 for photos/videos you’ll do fine

Under 50 000 followers you will make money but not as much, you’ll have to work hard

Lmao there's creators with 400k+ IG/Twitter followers who still do this so maybe OF takes a huge cut or something...and this is in the states where taxes are lower than Quebec too

Is it not a reasonable assumption that once a SW builds a revenue stream online, they'd transition to doing that instead?
OF is safer and considered easier once you have a following...at least in the States where it's a more dangerous business
Oh, you mean they still do escorting even though they probably make thousands or millions on OF. I don't know, they like it? They have awesome, generous clients still? A good connection with someone is priceless, imagine if it makes live the most comfortable life ever.

You're operating under the assumption that escorts don't really like being escorts, I imagine. Some of us actually enjoy doing this a lot more than doing content even if it's riskier! Like I do have fun when I film but I'll never find online SW nearly as fun and rewarding than being an escort, personally. (That's just me I don't speak for everyone obviously)

Oh, THIS! This too. What I think. Maybe, just maybe, I'd have way more fun doing content if I had a studio just for this, if I could rent all the hotel rooms in the world to create awesome, diversified content, an entourage for prod and post-prod, a photographer, etc, right?

Many focus on follower count and views but overlook one key factor: location. If your audience is mostly from regions with low purchasing power or limited payment access ex: no Visa/MC (China), local only systems (India’s UPI, Brazil’s Boleto), monetizing becomes nearly impossible. Basically reach doesn’t equal revenue.

So a girl could have a very high count of followers, even real humans, but have no value as they can never convert into a purchase.

It's not because somebody has a ton of followers on social media that they're breaking the bank on OF .. the people who make a lot of money on OF are influencers and semi celebrities right now. I don't have a ton of experience but when I had an OF I mostly gained followers when I posted my escorting ads, because they chose that over seeing me in person.

Also doing OF is not necessarily easier than being an escort. For me it was too exhausting to constantly come up with new and original content. I was planning on doing only internet based work at some point but I realized that although it's safer, it was even more exhausting for me. I felt like I would have to do more and more extreme things and felt a pressure to be hypersexual.

Escorting is also more discreet. I don't want thousands of people to have access to vulnerable images of me, it personally makes me feel uncomfortable.. escorting also involves a side to it that's not just about sex and being objectified, at least for me.

Exactly!!! Most of us don't have access to all this

Well as a client im glad to hear you like your job.

Personally putting myself in the shoes of an escort the fear/possibility that a new client might be a psycho with really bad intentions would make me do Online work as soon as I could.

Yeah that's why we participate on this board and urge clients to treat us with respect :) we want good working conditions and we don't want to see "psychos with bad intentions". There are aspects to all types of sex work that many clients don't see or care to think about.
