At what post count per day does the board become addictive?

By the way GG, just curious as to why you're still harping on myself and EB? Almost like you're digging for a confrontation, seems quite obvious to me and it's beginning to get rather petty.

As I told Stripper Lover this afternoon, this "invisible" option is useless and should be abolished. I noticed in the past, I would log off and then someone who I thought wasn't there would attack me. It pissed me off. If you're on Merb, then why hide under the invisible cloak?

I am not harping on you or EB. Regnad does it and so did btyger until today. I think many others do it as well. It should be banned. Period. What if we all went invisible? Hmmmmm....

Addictive, why not! It's accessible in between activities that I excerce at home and, for some who log on from internets cafe, from other kind of activities ...

Yes, I do agree that there is no point of being invisible!
Anyway, a lot of us log on more than one place at the time and it's possible to see who is in invisible mode in here ... because they are somewhere else also!

Why would I want to hide??? I do use the same handle everywhere anyway.
I agree also that it should be like another board where you have to register to see the reviews ... after all maybe some lurker would be more tempted to write down some reviews then ... I should go in marketing!!

I am honored to be tied for second for least amount of words per post, otherwise known as terseness and ability to make my point efficiently. Only Orallover is terser, but we all know about his frivolity. And who is tied with me for 2nd place? Mod 5 AND Mod6. Looks like the word of authority comes harsh and swift. This essentially makes me a defacto mod, which is my new life's mission.

Merb has been more addictive to me than hobbying, but Leyla may soon change that...

Sorry. I think I have gotten carried away with trying to make absolutely sure there is no way that anyone could take what I am saying any other way than exactly the way I meant it. It really bothers me when others put words in my mouth or make assumptions about what I'm saying so I obsess over how I write every post. I guess I'm part perfectionist, part obsessive. I always did well writing papers in college because my thoughts were crystal clear to my profs.

IMHO multiple handles are much more of a problem than the invisible "option."

As far as addiction to the board goes I think it goes along with how busy you are at the moment. I enjoy the board when I have free time and will post on anything that interests me but if I have something to do I can cut away for a couple days, or weeks, with no problem. Number of posts is not necessarily indicative of addiction, rather it seems to me that your rate of logging on to the board whether to read it or post on it would be more reflective of addiction. Some of us "binge" post like I am doing tonight.

Choosing to be in "invisible mode" serves only one purpose & that is to be invisible to other members.

If you're logged or not into VBulletin on any board, the Admin of that board sees your IP address, whether it's as a guest (not logged in) or as a member (invisible or visible) so by making your handle invisible you are only hiding from other members.

With this being said, I guess everyone will come to their own conclusions as to why any member would want or need to hide from one another.

First thing: Am I addicted to the board? I don't think so. I do enjoy spending time here and participating in discussions. It's also a good way to stay in touch with some of the members that I think of as friends. I do tend to check the board from time to time at work, usually during lunch.

Second thing: I have no idea why some people choose to use the invisible option. It makes no difference to me if people know I'm logged on or not. I never lurk as a guest, I don't use the ignore function and I do not disable the PM function. I may disagree with some posters at times but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in their point of view. If someone wants to be invisible, so be it. It doesn't bother me.

I don't think that the invisible mode option should be removed. It is not a big deal if a user wishes to remain invisible. This option also prevents others from seeing your last activity time when they consult your profile.

Shit, you mean you have all seen me scrolling the TS section? So what if people see your last activity? I do not need to justify this to anyone. This option is bullshit. If you're lurking then just let us know.
