Nah. The Big Owe was a lousy place to see a baseball game, or anything else for that matter.

I totally agree. A huge baseball like me even stopped going to the Expos games whenever i'd be in Mtl during past summers, even though i was an Expos fan. The thing i hated the most was being stuck indoors during a beautiful sunny day outside (the roof was since permanently closed). The atmosphere sucked.....too many empty seats & the lack of noise made you feel like you were almost underwater.

But for me, the bottom line was the distance from the downtown area. I absolutely hated having to get on the subway for the 20 minute plus ride to the stadium....or drive all the way to the east side of Mtl to get there.

In 1994, i was pulling for the Expos as much as i ever did & attended about a dozen games during that summer. I felt they had the team to win it all. They led the league when the season came to an abrupt end later that summer & the season was eventually cancelled altogether.

In the final years, i knew it was just a matter of time before MLB would pull the Expos out of Mtl. We never knew if the Expos would be back the following season. I eventually gave up & stopped going.

One of my all-time regrets was never getting to experience watching the Expos at Jarry Park.

It's somewhere north of Mtl. It's where the annual professional tennis championships (Canadian Open) are held. On Jarry street.
