I recently had the experience of setting the radio to a station which sounded good before a session (not in MTL) began only to realize at one point that it was a christian radio station:eek: Kind of a mood spoiler. I am wondering what is the best station (frequency) to tune in MTL. I had a hard time tuning into anything good in MTL last time. (I definitely stay away from the TV video channels because I don't like competition for attention!)

Depends what kind of music you are into. But if you like classic rock(Zeppelin,Stones,Queen,Rush,ect...)CHOM FM 98 is the place. But excpect a lot of repetition and unfortunately not much variety.
I mean, how many times a day do you want to hear ''Smoke on the Water'' ?
A good song by one of my favorite band,Deep Purple, but there are countles other great songs by that band, and others, that never get on the air.
Redundancy is killing major classic rock stations IMHO.

It's CHOM 97.7 FM, not bad if you compare it to the other crap radio stations in MTL, but if you want to listen to good radio tune to 99.9 the Buzz it's from Burlington Vermont, it's ALT music with good old nirvana and papa roach etc...

Yeah you're right,98 was the old frequency, back in the 70's and 80's.I guess my memory is pulling tricks on me!

As for ALT music,it's all a matter of taste,I prefer the old analogic sounds, naivety and overall skills of 70's musicians over any 90's music.

Yeah, the buzz rocks!!What I do is make a compilation cd,with my favorite "fuck songs".That way it's straight up music and no spots or talking.
