Some players where great because of their stats .some where great for there longevity some where great for their showmanship ,but who was the greatest leader or captain of all time ?

Maurice Richard! He was the best at is sport and was an inspiration for French Canadiens to rise up ! The Muhamed Ali québécois ! He came from a poor family working during the day and at night playing hockey . Every time he was called a frog or other derogating word bullied by the upper English class of Montreal he rise up ! Maurice was never afraid to put is nose in the traffic , he rises his knukles every time against reel thugs even pro boxer on skates . Won 8 Stanley cup between 42 and 61. He is Mr Hockey !

Don't forget that Gretzky and Crosby (and to a lesser extent Brett Hull, Mario and Bossy) were/are also considered whiners. It sort of goes with the territory.

Just to name one who I think WILL BE in the same vain as Steve Yzerman is Jonathan Toews.

Both, by the way, have won Stanley Cups.

Doc didn't say captain of what. Obviously, he means the captain of the Leafs' golfing team. Who has done more to get his colleagues on the practice green a couple of weeks earlier than the rest of the NHLf?

It is necessary to avoid extraneous movements in swinging a golf club. Who can better lead by example than the PYLON - the NHL lleader in immobility?

I wonder if the Leafs have achieved their special place in the NHL by selecting the Phaneufs and Colton Orrs over players like Messier, Yzerman and Toews.

Seriously, Doc was joking to get a rise out of us. While Leaf fans would enjoy the games more if they were blind, they generally are not.

I would bet you are finally correct about one with that statement :lol: Dion will have a great season as captain of Canada's team now that he is surrounded by other leaders, something any great captain has always had.
